All pop becomes irrelevant over time.

I think that the pop from the 80's was a lot stronger than pop today is though. It had more character, more flavors, and was more flexible.

Pop today seems to be nothing but boy bands and female singers who are hopelessly regurgitating Mariah's 'screaming orgasm' style of singing.

Pop-Rock seems to be faring a little better these days. Thank goodness for that.

To be fair, forums are extremely difficult to get rolling...

I do think they need to be attached to a connected site, a big site in its own right. Sorry for the rhyme tonight. :o

And I do like Madonna, but I don't think there's a point in replying about that at this point...

1. You guys can be really harsh. Your ears are not God's; try to keep open minds.
2. My ears tell me the Beatles were pop... of course, not at the time, I suppose.

1. I wish; it's worse than that. It's club noise. :( (Clubs used to have remixes, now that ish is on the radio all day.)
2. It is? Hmmm, yes, I suppose so. There just isn't as much of it as crappy pop-rock that's also noise; but I'd assume you wouldn't call that pop ROCK and my ears tell me differently.

Most of the rare decent new mainstream stuff is kind of in that genre, or close, though.
