We've certainly welcomed the UN monitoring the elections of countries that we've liberated, so what's good for the goose, right?
Well, yes, if there is one of the reasons stated above.
Most vote monitoring the U.N. does is where they've not been a voting country for long, or their has been a regime change.
It's to guarantee the integrity of the process from 3rd-world-nation thuggury and warlords. Do you think we've actually sunk that low? If so, do you ever wonder how we've come to that status in only 4 years?
Besides, if we're supporting that kind of intimidation from the U.N. anywhere else, then we should absolutely do something to stop it immediately! I'm not saying it is good for goose OR gander. I don't think Jimmy Carter's views represent us well either.
The only side I'm on is the truth.
I'd argue that since 2000 when the SCOTUS violated the public trust by STOPPING a legitimate and necessary recount to NAME a winner, that yes, our elections are absolutely corrupted.
Then in 2004, Ohio sees 10's of thousands of ballots mysteriously get delivered to a shady garage and then the boxes 'tampered with' thus making the votes uncountable (measure AGAINST fraud, used FOR fraud), and the possibility that the entire POTUS election hinged on that state, and the ballots were from a district heavily on the losing side of the election.. well that yes, there is rampant election fraud.
2012:
Voter roll purging
Rogue volunteers dumping voter registrations in trash cans
Draconian last-minute laws designed to stop specific demographics from being able to legally vote
and politicians who publicly gloat about how they used such measures to win the election, without couth or shame.
Yes, our elections are corrupted.
