Have mercy, how can I be agreeing with Jimmy, but the fact is it is NOT the business of the USA to police the world, or remove tyrants from their thrones of power. It IS the position of POTUS and Congress to strengthen US defenses and work to stay out of the economy's way and build a stronger one by sound fiscal policies.

If we "free" Iraq, why not "free" North Korea, Cuba, African nations, any and all nations run by despots?

How many unconstitutional wars are Americans going to die for? And if you are going to fight a war, fight the bloomin' war and annihilate the enemy. You cannot start an armed conflict if you are going to chafe at the idea of "innocent" people dying and totally destroying the attacking nation. Iraq and Afghanistan will never be "free" because their cultures of thousands of years is never going to change.

Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11, nor Afghanistan. Why were we there at all, and why are we there still, when OBL is dead? The whole thing is a ruse. An enormous American military base in Iraq will certainly not stop lunatics like Iran's top dogs from lobbing a nuke on it if given the opportunity to do so.

Bring the troops home. Shut down the bases on foreign soils, build the biggest defense system on planet earth and no one will attack us.

Here is communist China showing the west how it's done. They don't attack anyone (save for their own people which is going to happen here if things do not straighten out), they build the biggest army on earth and are close to taking the throne of economic power. Communists. Despots. Why not free the Chinese people? If the principle is correct, apply it.

I would LOVE a viable third candidate. There isn't one. So, yes, I am not voting for Romney I am voting against the Marxist before he gets a mandate win to totally ruin the Republic. At least Romney will slow things down a little. Hopefully.

Bush is no longer the issue, hypocrite that he was. The issue is the economy. Obama never had a job (I should say, a job not handed to him). He has Marxists in his cabinet. Given a second term and a spineless Congress America will face the greatest challenge to it's survival since the civil war.

I'm glad you agree with my position Drums but one thing you should be aware of - Romney is for going to war with Iran. Obama is against it, but will attack if our interests or our allies interests are threatened. In reality, both Obama and Romney are moderates, the main difference is that Romney is rich and will work on the rich people's behalf. So if you're not rich and you really are tired of the wars, vote Obama!

The problems America has are not because of POTUS, anyway. The problem are spineless cowards and/or traitors in Congress. The problem is also the military industrial complex. When I saw Ike, in his farewell address to the nation, warn Americans of the rise of the MIC lights went on big-time for me.

Whether Romney goes to war with Iran is dubious, given the fear these politicians have of Islam. Iran is Persian by heritage, not Islamic. Totally different vibe. But Romney is not going to cross that line without Congressional support to do so. It's all a ruse. It's all a joke. It's all about money, nothing more. War is profitable for those who are behind them.

I wish Ron Paul had gotten the nomination. But ... not that he could have done anything anyway, given those in Congress.

I can't believe anyone thinks anything would be different no matter who gets in office. The last 30 years of US history shows that corporate interests RUN this country, an among the largest is the military industrial complex.

War has become a consistent concept and is here to stay. Can't have bomb makers running short on new product orders. Who do you think is getting rich off the wars?

I'm missing something here. He has destroyed our energy grid, he has destroyed job creation, he has spent our children into poverty with a debt they can not possibly pay, he has devalued the dollar that you have in your savings and in your wallet, he has imposed an ungodly so called "health care" system on us that denies the elderly treatment, he voted the death penalty to babies that were born alive after a botched abortion, he stands up to apologize to the Muslims that killed our citizens, He wants to steal money from those who earned it and give it to lazy no good creeps that are working the system, (I know and have met families that have lived off welfare for three generations... all able bodied and able to work. When they finally made some regulations to get these gold bricks off welfare, he removed those requirements illegally.) he is lowering our defenses by destroying our ships and arsenals, he violates the decisions of the Supreme court, the congress and the constitution, he wants us to be slaves to big government (the few that actually work for a living) He has so many tax hikes on everyone in that "health care bill" going into effect right after the election, he has imposed all manner of control over the citizens of this country, also in that bill, also to be revealed after the election. He bribes voters with welfare, by permitting illegal immigration, Yes, he is giving our country over to illegal aliens. He lies every time he opens his mouth promising everything while taking so much away from Americans. He wants to control every aspect of our lives without us having any say in it. I could go on and on.
