well, maybe not all that new.

i've been going thru some older solo recordings i've done and now that i have a little better equipment (and some good musicians avail and willing to contribute) i'm looking at stuff to see what might merit an update.

sorry 'bout the canned drums and asst slop...i've always been a lazy assed, one take, plug 'n play guy when it comes to home recording.

synth/keys are played from a malletKAT....gtrs be gtrs, basses be basses, vibes be vibes.

these were recorded to ADAT or a TEAC 1/4" 4 trk reel to reel.

i'm finally gonna get my prehistoric butt into the '90's and get this damn SONAR figured out.

PG outstanding musicianship...

- Sacred Ground : Very short... But great job on capturing the 'sacred' pastoral... Love the Flute layers

- No, Do I look Tense. Bingo!... Yeah You looked tense. Love the finger tapping nervousness expressed in the rhythm. Note for note, I get it! :)

- Prehistoric -Nice work with vibraphones- I saw a lumbering , peaceful dino-fied herd of creatures making their way peacefully through an exotic ancient green clearing

-Kelly Sahn - Not sure what to think here Well Executed but I didnt comprehend the theme...

-ODD- - And Curious...

Once In Your Life Nice balance of instruments and sounds... main phrases could have sustained the mystery/the profound distinctions that you introduced in ODD... sort of as a contra effect... But then again I don't know enough... like I should...

Thems my takes :)

let me give you the lay of the land on this one. it's compound meter (more like confound meter).

the A section adds up to 12 beats but in an unusal way. w one measure each of:

3/4...4/4...3/4..2/4

the B sect is:

3/4...4/4...7/4
3/4...4/4...4/4....4/4

yrs ago i used to play this tune and other odd time stuff w a drummer buddy of mine named Mark Kelley (great drummer). it never had a name. after recording this version and noticing the "asian" overtones of the arrangement and instrumentation i decided to give Kelley a tip of the fedora w the title "Kelleysahn".

Fine musicianship abounds from these sounds ... "Erational" and "No, Do I LOOK Tense?" are my favorites.

I swear, I haven't forgotten... just got sidetracked with my own band stuff!

So far, "Tense" is pretty out there (in a good way), I'm digging the beat on "Prehistoric," and I love that fretless you've got going on "Go Fourth" -- what kind of bass is that?
