Currently I am a solo guitar player. I have a lot of songs but I don't know jack about recording or making drum beats. Can somebody point me in the right direction for some software that's simple and easy to understand, that wont take hours to figure out

EZ Drummer is pretty good for 'ease of use'. You can run it in stand-alone mode, or drag-and-drop patterns into any DAW (recording software) with MIDI capability.
Using any DAW requires some time to learn how to use it, but its much better than using a single-pattern drum machine. Of course, your alternative is a programmable rhythm machine which will probably require the same kind of learning curve.

You can simply just insert MIDI drum tracks in or looping drum tracks.
