Americans make the same stupid mistake over and over. Other people say things and our wonderful leaders assume they didn't really mean it.

But they do.

Hitler said if another war came, the Jews would not escape this time. That was his world view. Ignoring it produced horrific results.

In 1936 (IRRC) the world Jewish Congress decided to declare war and boycott Hitler. How many people was that? A couple hundred? Maybe?

But Hitler saw it as the whole world of Jewish Conspiracy and I think we all know how that turned out.

We're doing it again today. After 9/11 it was considered heresy to ask 'why did this happen?" Yet to deal with an enemy you absolutely MUST know how he thinks.

Do we deserve better leaders? It seems unlikely. We're not much these days.
