That oath won't protect you from sh*t. Look at Katrina - the guys who were confiscating guns (and not one lilly livered bitch refused) had taken that oath.
Solhenitzen (sp?) was right. Your only hope is to be ready and willing to give them so much pain that they leave you alone. The Russians, Germans, Chinese, Jews, Cambodians etc found out how protection you have from your own military / police. None. Zilch. Nada...
And then there are the thugs - aimless inter city ferals with no parents and no moral guidlines - foresaken and bitterly angry...
A Canadian consultant asked me there were so many shootings in the US. I told him the very un-PC truth. I told him that among the people who looked like him - the statistics were the same or less than Canada.
He looked real thoughful for a moment and said, "Oh..."
That folks, is a result of govt. Think 'Great society." We paid for it - and now we are getting paid back for it. God help us.
