for crying out f-king loud J ????? you are one thin skinned dude!!!

there's plenty of stuff i like (check out your steely dan thread).....i even complimented you and your band yesterday! is it just that you can't rein in
need for a throwdown and desire for a skirmish?

i told you yesterday i appreciated your attempt at making nice and you complimenting my playing and Planet Jazz.

now you're drawing down why? because i said i appreciated Kyle's playing but that i'm not a fan of that kind of "jazz".....and what happens.......out comes the name calling and bitchiness.

all your talk about making nice and apologies doesn't really jive w that.

PlanetGuy, I Believe that Jeff was sincere about the music comments, et al... But As you know, this forum is so much more than just the topic of music. In fact, One could argue that its the politics, religion, social discussions which evoke the creative juices for many musicians here.

I have it on good authority, , we (The collective membership of the forum) are about to receive a Texas style spanking, regarding the topics of upcoming election , and current parties. LOL! By design, if anyone voted for and continues to espouse Obama, the belt is gonna hurt more...than if it was the opposite sentiment.

I dont believe Jeff means any of it to be personal ...but then again, to some folks, its a fact that voting for Obama is somewhat like a personal attack ... hehe heh..

I recently saw a Sarah Palin doing a political commercial for Sarah Steelman (who lost yesterday in Missouri) Palin mentioned she(Steelman) would protect our tax dollars like a mother grizzly protecting her cubs.. I think Jeff is protective too, like a mother grizzly protecting her cubs from the fanatical liberals.. he means no harm at all, he's just protective

Huh? I voted for Obama, and will again this fall. Romney can't be the solution to the problem, when he is the problem. Unless you like rich men who keep their money offshore, enjoy gutting companies and laying off people and go on vacation with their dog strapped to the roof.

I'll be voting for Obama too, Romney's have too many family ties to Mexico and that can not be good.. if you need to hide things, like tax records, Mexico makes sense..

yeah, but which ones? the ones complimenting my playing or the ones denigrating it???

like anyone else i prefer a compliment over a slight...but hey, just pick one and stick to it.

same with how we interact....either put out an outstretched hand and say "yeah, we can agree to disagree, but you're ok and i respect that you have different views than me...." or go ahead and come out guns blazing and label everyone you disagree w assholes.

but pick a plan and stick w it! otherwise it's too damn confusing and i'm easily confused.

well, as you noticed i have no problem discussing politics, religion, and social issues....i just don't know why it has to get vindictive, pissy and mean spirited.

nuthin' wrong w a little snarky poke in the ribs or some sarcastic comments now and then, but.....

I dont believe Jeff means any of it to be personal
well, until i hear otherwise from him....who the eff knows? i'm not losing any sleep over it one way or the other and i'd hope that's the same for everyone else getting into these ridiculous squabbles. [/quote]

Can't we just call each other names and have fun?

I wonder if the Rover is like the last big NASA mission,
the faked flight to the moon? How do you get thru that
radioactive belt? And nobody has any symptoms of
radiation sickness.?

Is it all BS.

The only thing I can think NASA for, is Tang, and
those peanut butter space bars, and they don't even
sell the space bars anymore.

Did they invent Quisp cereal too?

living here in MO i saw those commercials too. besides throwing up a little in my mouth every time i hear that bimbo palin talk...i can't help but see tina fey doing a letter perfect imitation of her.

though i'm no big fan of McCain...i do have respect for him, his ethics, and his service to our counrty. and i would just LOVE to sit down in the corner of some quiet bar and over a beer ask him for his real thoughts on Palin!

w his military background one can only imagine how he must feel about her upping and quitting halfway thru her term.... walking away and leaving a job unfinished.

momma grizzly my ass. more like momma nutball looking out for number one.

All the current batch of politicians should do what
Sarah Palin did, and just quit and walkaway.

Sarah Palin advanced herself by walking away,
sometimes the winner is the loser, and the loser
the winner. But with our current group of assholes
running this country, we all lose.(Unless you got your
money offshore, or seen as a half black half white
saviour). I wish the govt woulld leave me alone, they do
nothing for me, but contiually send me bills saying I
owe them money........... but for what.

Guys

you worry me. I don't care if you all fight and I like a good argument too. But when it comes to politics everyone seems to be either democrat or republican. Neocon or socialist.

a) the core neocons where originally (and some cases, still are) trotskyites who opted for global primacy and power of the 'revolution' Because all too many Americans feel that supporting the military is the equivilent of supporting ever overseas adventure these creeps come up with - they get away with it.

b) the democrats are obviously scum at many many levels. Saying that does mean in ANY way suggest that I am a republican. These people want to own us. To them freedom matters only in matters of sex. Anything else is regulated by Nanny. Because they pretend to love the poor and minorities, to be against war, a lot of people fall for their bullshit.

c) the Republicans are demonstrably scum. If they were truly in opposition to the democrat / socialist collectivist thing - we wouldn't have it. But they are just enjoying the ride and posing as patriots. A lot of people fall for it - it feels good to salute the flag and ignore the actual deeds of these scoundrels.

Maybe it's time to start thinking of a third way - with one primary criterion right from the start - nobody gets to tell Talbot what to do, unless I violate the aggression rule and attack someone. (self defense is fine)

And alternative might be to guillotine all the current politicians and industry leaders (that should satisfy the fantasies of both left and right) and go back to being a constitional republic. Nah...too extremist...
