I am utterly speechless with this last comment.

Do the right thing and leave well enough alone. You've done enough already, and I know now that you are A RETIRED musician, which is not the type of person I need advice or reccommendations from.

I have stated this before and I'll state it again. I need to reach someone around my age who enjoys playing more of the artists I enjoy and who is an amateur, or intermediate level musician. Someone who is willing to go the extra mile with me, and work with me, instead of the all too common tough love, or the all too common "oh, he's making excuses".

I think you should start your own web site to suit what you want and be the moderator, its the only way you will get what you want.

Yeah, that's honest advice. But as I said, I do not have the tools to advertize the simple forum I would make, and I would need help to moderate the forum, and the forum would be temporary. It's use would only be to reach guys in their 20s in Baton Rouge who play pop and soft rock music but are ONLY looking for friends, not the big boys who are part of the Baton Rouge music scene or those trying to pursue a career.

I was just commenting that everytime I or anyone else gives you an idea, you just shoot it down, I cant do that, I dont have the tools, I cant go to bars, I want to check an open mic out before I get there, Its too dangerous, I dont want to be disspointed.

I just have to ask in real life when you talk to people do you do this same thing? Its just gonna be hard for you to relate to anyone it seems to me.

Truth be told, I don't get out much. I'm not in college, and I don't have a job. I'm looking for something special. I'm not interested in hanging out with musicians you think I want to hang out with. You know, the typical bar goers and club goers who are ready to perform. And as I said, no matter where I post, my requests always seems to reach the all too common classic rock/heavy metal/hard rock music lover who plays music to impress his girlfriend, and screw around with drugs and heavy drinking.

I want to reach those guys who are somewhat nerdy, and keep to themselves more, and who surround themselves with good friends.

Let me just say, that someone was on the right track when they Googled a few places in Baton Rouge that offer music lessons that allowed me to e-mail the person and ask them if they know anybody who fits what I'm looking for.

It is my staunchest (yet unqualified) opinion that Clifford suffers from OCPD (Obsessive Compulsive Personality Disorder) In so much as he presents classic cues throughout his prose, I have to believe this to be his case.

Its futile to attempt conventional reasoning with Clifford. He doesn't mean harm, but he's kind of stuck in a loop... I would not take any of his snipes at us seriously. The boy is in a corner, socially and does exhibit the unconventional manner of reaching out like he does, the way he does.

AFter careful, thought, I also suspect he's not really gay, but he does have a sexual identity crisis going on... In fact He might be androgynous.

But I am not qualified to assert this officially...

I may be a little obnoxious at times, but unlike you guys, if I spot someone who is asking for help, I use good wisdom, and take into account, age group, level of musicianship, muisc tastes, that person's goals, and of course, depending on website, try to take the time to get to know the person as a friend. That way, he won't give up on me so easily and make foolish assumptions or start making jokes at my expense.
