I don't know how old you are, but the US was spending so much to keep up with the soviet union. There were so many factors involved that you can't write 3 lines and explain it.

Jimmy actually said something smart. Economic cycles run in cycles. The one that President Reagan STARTED,,, Ran right through the President Clinton era. He almost killed it his first term and raising taxes.
Pres Bush SR almost killed it when removed the credit card interest tax cut.

All you liberals keep twisting it any way you want to, but many,many Americans like myself will defend ourselves against a government that is hell bent on stealing in the name of "DOING THE RIGHT THING"

Glenny I can respect that to a point you’re not disputing it you’re justifying it. That’s all I wanted to hear.
I actually benefited much during the Reagan years. His downsizing of Govt. employee’s created many new Govt. contract opportunities. So I got 11 years employment from his smoke and mirrors.
FYI I’m not now nor have I ever been a LIBERAL. I’ve voted for Rep as well as Dem’s in my life. I’ve never been nor will I ever be a card carrying member of either party. I’m the minority. The undecided or the Independent. Call me what you like but if you knew me Liberal would not be in my description. My wife believes I’m a closet Limbaugh fan. She’s wrong as well. But she is a Dem. so like many party people you either with or against. But I'm living proof that is not always true. Sometimes they're both wrong!

If you want to wipe out a 16 trillion dollar national debt you have to have a 50 trillion dollar economy.
That means you have to unleash the AMERICAN SPIRIT.
Ohhh Baby, you do that and all of sudden you may wind up with more wealthy people than any one could ever imagine.
THAT ALONE WOULD TAKE CONTROL OUT OF GOVERNMENT HANDS.
