That's just harsh! Are you sure that bad part wasn't just a matter of tuning? As a songwriter, I heard lots of good potential in his work... Would you feel the same way if He redid the track...(Properly tuned)?

Dane, that's your cue...

Slacker, there was 1 guy on this thread that said something to the effect it was so bad and he hated it so much I should go out behind the barn and do away myself, (maybe I'm exaggerating) but he gave no review or comment as to why it was so terrible? I know everybody in the music business has ulterior motives for their actions, and comments, sometimes it is envy, sometimes it's a player that is so far advanced in technique on the guitar they have to drag them down, kinda like the Sex Pistols saying Led Zeppelin sucked.. Slacker I wish everybody was as talented as you, talented ones like yourself refrain from stupid behavior and that's why I like you probably best here at this forum..

Hi Dane! I like what I heard. Maybe it's not the tuning of the guitar but the slide notes landing on a pitch that is dissonant with the fingerpicking notes. There are some parts in the song when the slide guitar notes lands off key. Also, it maybe the timing as slide and fingerpicking delivery has to be synchronized. Did you record this with a metronome or a click track. This may solve many problems. Overall, I like it very much. Great Work!

did not take a slide with me to the session, never had tried to work up a harmony instrumental overdub to original track, still had time left and wanted to get my monies worth (a whole 10 dollars worth) asked the engineer if he had a a size 1-1/4" deep well socket so I could see if I could add to basic track that was somewhat empty sounding by itself, he goes into other room and pulls out a huge 2-1/2" diameter glass "slide" I'd never seen a slide in glass that was that large, it could barely fit between the frets especially at upper register.. made do with what was on hand, initially thought second track could be chorded passages, MADE IT TOO BUSY SOUNDING in my opinion setteled for what is heard, dissonance was intentional.. yips and barks and growls of a slide give character..ask Ry Cooder

Bad tuning makes not a dissonant masterpiece... rather, it coerces the listener to abandon the beauty of true dissonance, in favor of anything consonant , to relieve the aural pain... Tune yer guitar bro...

I will leave it "as is" a lesson to those who leave guitars in hot trunks of car all day waiting for 2PM appointment and then rushed into air conditioned room and having to get it done in 1 hour.. no doubt the thing went out while playing since guitar was hotter than a pistol..let's get the tuning fork out or pitch pipe out ? and test it while playing..starts with C/G to Em7/G see if the opening chord is C frequency?..(440hZ-A), go ahead and pull out your pitch pipe and see?
