ok. so i own a mesa boogie triple rectifier with a 4x12 slant cab.

whenever i use my Line 6 DL4 it messes up my tone. my level is lowered and the distortion that i use for the mesa is worse!!

what am i doing wrong?! it wasn't like that before! i just want the sweet
distorted sound of the mesa boogie with some delay now it sounds like a nasty distorted version of some Dan electro.

thanks for your help if you can.

You should run it in the effects loop, which I believe is a paralell loop on that amp. It also has a mix control if I remember correctly. That will still soften the punch a little though.
Using any digital effects with a tube amp will change things no matter what.
The best and only way to keep the straight-in feel/tone is have another amp to run the wet signal from a preamp output. Thats how I would go.
If you need any more info let me know.
