It seems like only guitarists on her so i wanted to post something for the drummers....
Who is the best Metal drummer out there today... I believe there is more than just double base that goes into it but everyone has their opinion. I think Andy Herrick of Chimaira is atleast one of the best in the bussiness... good cymbal work... but of course Dana Carey of tool is amazing.

Hands down, Lars Ulrich. Many metal drummers today would say no, but if it were not for him they would not exist. He is the ultimate metal drummer. One of the best I have ever heard and I love listening to him play.

I think Mike Portnoy is the greatest drummer out there but as far as metal goes (or at least my style of metal) Chris Addler from Lamb of God would take the lead anyday in my opinion.

Adler over Morton? They both seem great to me, fast as crap at times. Actually, Trivium's guitarists and Shadows Fall are quick as well (I know nothing about them though). If I had to choose a lead guitarist for my band, and I could choose anyone, probably Kirk Hammett. But compared to Lamb of God style music, he is not in those standards. Different type of guitarist. So, if I had to choose a heavy guitarist and good drummer, I would go with Mark Morton and Lars Ulrich.

Peace out, GuitarAnatomy.

Chris Adler (Lamb Of God)
Brann Dailor (Mastodon)
Dave Mclean (MachineHead) - hugely underrated.
Dave Lombardo (Slayer)
Gene Hoglan (Strapping Young Lad, Death, Dark Angel)

All brilliant in their own way but Adler nicks it for me.
