I have a nasty feeling that dying in bed is no longer an option for those of us who actually give a sh*t about freedom.

My respect for the caretakers of the police state is pretty much the same as my 'respect' for the thugs they incarcerate.

One quarter of the total number of incarcerated people in the WORLD are languishing in US jails and prisons.

Most of it is fallout from the imaginery war on drugs which is actually a war on freedom. When some JBT kicks in your door, shoots your dog and sprays bullets all over your house and then says, "Sorry, wrong house," we are supposed to reply, "That's ok boss, sure enough..." And shuffle on about our business.

Keep your eyes down and don't do anything that might suggest to the JBTs that you are anything but subservient.

...Jimmy Danger ... this just solidifies more the "feeling up" , looting. theft and harrasment that is expanding throughout the country ... "another brick in the wall. The next thing you know they will be restricting travel for tax "problems"

Slacker G's "Neo America" is a fine label. Yod and PaperDog are spot on in what they say I believe. GuitarMikeB ... when have the 21st Century police or military of this country ever failed to not grossly abuse their "granted" powers ?

Klugmo ... I personally believe that it is "spiritual death" to work in a prison, jail or detention centre. It is definately not a "career" but it is a Spiritual Death Sentence. This kind of job, environment and "reward" even goes against any "established" religions I can think of. Why would one choose such an "occupation" when there are so many much more truly rewarding ones that embrace humanity and not destroy it ? I simply do not understand ... but that is another thread.

Many joke about these issues. I recognize that humour has it's place. Often I myself have been accused of being disgusting and disrespectful for my own use of "Black Humour" so I desist from commenting in this regard.

Sanshouheil ... excellent poster ... my question is what does the writing say ? Do you happen to know ? Ta

Your considering dying in bed as a good
and viable option?WTF.

Police state, I hate cops. That doesn't describe
SWMO. Caretakers = elected officials?

The war on drugs is no imaginary war, I've got good
friends in the ground over it. It's a war on money.
What dumbazz drug dealer in your town has the cach
to buy a 1000 lbs of weed or 10 kilos of coke, I'll
bet none. The drugs are being supplied by the money
crowd, and they are fighting amongst themselves
about how the money will be split.

An imaginary war? Not hardly I've got friends that have
accidentally OD'ed, purposelyOD'ed, Shot by the cops
and killed for drugs, carwrecks from under the influence
of drugs and/or alcohol. What about those who die the long
prescription pill death (Doctor recommended).
The war on drugs is no more Imaniary than this bm forum.

If these people that are incarcerated, organize there'll be
hell to pay, I know alot of people in jail aren't thugs, but
that is a convenient and easy word. I don't buy that "Sorry,
wrong house," bulls#t either. I'm part of the same small knit
community I've been in all my life, my family has been in
this house over 40 years, there's no wrong house bs happening
here, hell the Mayor lives a couple of houses down, I could
see this happening to you if you lived in a ghetto or a slum.

Who are the JBT's? Mike all the good I've heard come off your
keyboard, but to recommend keeping your eyes down, I find
that sad. I will stand up to anybody or anything, better to die
looking them in the eye then to passively divert your eyes.

When you take a dump, it just swirls down the hole and disappears.
When you haul your stinking trash to the curb, it just disappears.
When your kid throws-up on the floor at school, it then disappears.
When you throw trash out your window driving down the road, it disappears.
When you miss the toilet, buzzed at the bar, it just disappears.
When a terrible accident has happened and bodies are everywhere, they
will disappear.
When your septic tank is full and you call the guy. It disappears.

My point is there are many, many jobs in this world that are not nice, clean
or pleasant. Most of us take these duties for granted and some actually
ask why anyone would do them.

I used to work in a waste water treatment plant when I was younger.
That's where it all goes when you flush. I needed a job and that was available.
It was a County job and payed decent with benefits. A job is a job is a job.
I've done many different jobs in my life and I'm sure most of us have.
As in all jobs there are people in it that are good and bad. The thing about
these jail guards is the bottom line of keeping murderers and rapists and
thieves off the street and killing, raping and stealing from YOU AND ME.
Because that is exactly what they would do. There are rules and rights and
laws and religions and many things that complicate the locking-up of
these criminals but keeping them locked up is paramount.

Stop and think next time you see a guy with a broom in his hand or
see a woman heading into a bathroom carrying cleaning materials.
People just SURVIVE and try to make it the best they can.

Vamps right Mo you chose your occupation,
no one else, a job it sounds demeaning, my
job is.......

I'm not really interested in jobs or toilet
functions, or trash, or people throwing up.

I'm concerned with
Where's the money going.
Are we effective as a sales team
What's up with taxes
What am I going to get Momma for her B-day

I don't do jobs either, my concern is to provide for
my family, and I found out better than 30 years ago,
your not going to do a very good job of that with a job.
Work use your brain and body, or take a job with somebody
else while they use your brain and body to make a buck......
Yet, if you haven't learned this by now..... will you ever.

Klug,

" When you take a dump, it just swirls down the hole and disappears. "

Not in a government approved and mandated toilet. It just swirls in one of those.

Klugmo...I thank you for your reply...I do agree with PaperDog in that although I may not agree with all you say and may not at times understand it, I do respect your logic and appreciate the care taken in your well spoken statements. The drummer in my Band "The Lord of Softness" has a son who works as a prison guard and has a family to support so he does what he must do ... I have no problem understanding this as you so well put it in relating your sewage job. I have done many jobs for short periods of time that I did not like but had to do ... most probably almost everyone has.

But this being said I know that I would never do certain other jobs no matter what even if I had to move or take even worse ones. We all have beliefs and I respect yours and the reasons you listed for doing the job. They are not at all bad reasons and I thank you for telling me.

But I could not do that ... not because I consider myself "better" or anything like that ... perhaps the reason is because I am not good enough, who knows ? I just could not strip search someone in a prison and most certainly not violate an ordinary citizen doing so. Ta

Vampier, I understand your position... I too believed this way... But then, one day, while in the military...I was given a job, which I detested... I had to wax a floor (as in glass shine...by hand) , while everyone else in my team was allowed to take the night off ... Here is what happened when I decided to embrace what I hated...
That floor looked like glossy chrome under a certain angle of light when I finished with it. My boss was so impressed with the job, that he put me in for a task , which required someone with an ability to pay close attention to special details (an analytically based task), which then transformed into a solution that won confidence in my peers, who in turn, suggested to my boss to send me to a particular school of advanced training. It was there that I discovered a knack for teaching... and as such, I took on a whole 2nd tour as an instructor... Now, It came to pass one day, that I had a young kid (student) who was having trouble with the material of the course I was presenting... Part of his trouble was that he hated to do the necessary calculations, which could help him Identify, and classify, with precision, a certain enemy submarine in the ocean. His dilemma was simple to solve... He hated the math work as much as i hated waxing floors... However, because I embraced the job of waxing the floors, I was able and duly qualified to teach this young man how to overcome and embrace his hatred for doing the math work... What made this special, was that in the interim,.and during his training, he had felt so inadequate (and the pressure was so high) , that he had contemplated suicide. As such, I helped his escape from such a drastic notion, whereby, he did overcome and embrace his hatred for math-work... .He successfully passed the course... and went on to the fleet as a professional sonar analyst.

The moral of my true story.. is that sometimes, we walk through a fire ourselves, in preparation for another soul's need of a lesson. It is the act of the universe, conspiring on behalf of each of us, by way of our own decisions and actions.

The best recent job is BORDER PATROL.

Where else can you shoot and kill, often completely alone and unsupervised?

"Where do I sign"? lol

At the least they could have the courtesy do it in a candle lit room with soft music playing in the back ground.

This thread (and the news as of late) inspired a new song today, "Crazy Years".

Here's verse 1 and a chorus (first draft)

Boss man says 'I own your life
Nothing you can do, ain't no lie
Right out there, there's a hundred other guys
Who'll jump on your job and spit in your eye.'
Police man says 'I can do what I please
Strip search and frisk you, just 'cause you sneezed
Throw you in a jail cell, leave you there to freeze
The court says I can do it, to keep the peace.'

(CH)
Look around yourself now, if you really dare
Most people thinking 'why should I care'
That things are going bad, why should I fear
That we're all heading into the Crazy Years
