Some have requested a few pics of our new stage gear.
I've taken a few random shots as it is set up in our rehearsal space.

Thanks Jerry.

I'm really enjoying working with the new mixer.
The Peavey & Yamaha monitors and the Peavey mains on the floor combined with the Carvin towers on either side worked well at our last show.
Floyd & I went into the audience space with our wireless and walked around the room at sound check and balanced everything out by angling the speakers as few degrees and adjusting the volume of the front and side mains.

I could not be more pleased with the system as it stands right now.

:?: I don't use a mic ... though we do run the monitor and the main vocals quite a bit above the volume of the music.

We have friends and family in the audience to let us know if the vocals are easily understood.
The message is in the lyrics ... not the guitar licks.

George

you have an important quality - you seem to identify the problem domain, take ownership of it, and then put together and own a solution.

Getting the sound right is a challenge. So is identifying and getting the best gear available at a cost you can afford; while considering scalability, reliability and in some cases, redundancy.

Oh and you have do this incrementally, while rehearsing, writing material, playing gigs and have a full time job. And a family.

As the old boy said in "She wore a yellow ribbon," 'Get it done, Johnny Reb!"

A lot of nice gear there. I just picked up a couple of days ago 1 pair of Peavey PV115's and 1 pair of Peavey PV115D's for my friends wedding party. He noticed I have a large variety of music and asked me to DJ some music outside. I figure the 115D's will power the 115's. I am just bringin' the speakers and a laptop. The 1/8" stereo to Speakon cable was a real pain in *** to find. I may or may not keep them after the gig.

I've been pleased with my Peavey speakers thus far.

I'll bet an 1/8" to Speakon was a PIA to find.
I have enough various adapters in my tool chest to do the various jobs but I have never seen a 1/8th to Speakon.

Thanks for the props Talbot. Logistics has always kinda been my thing.

I hate adaptors. The stress on that little jack "with the adaptor and the heavy duty speaker cable" will snap it like a twig.
