Well I'm not up to speed on the hillbilly folk song genera but,
sounds complete and well thought out.
should go down well in any disreputable pool hall.

If I were you I would take down the "I'm looking for musicians who aren't assholes" advert on your web page.
might lead people to think you're looking for a gig where you're the only asshole in the group.

you could change it to "I'm looking for musicians who are assholes"
then everyone will feel at home.

Lee Im listening first thing that comes to mind stylestically is Buddy Holly, for the rythym guitar and your twang on the vocals.

Unlike some of your other recordings Im glad to see you cut some of the distortion on your rythym guitar.

Your lead fills seem out of sync, maybe this is what you were meaning to do, but I would clean up the distortion on those, maybe boost the mids on your amp some so they would sit in the mix a little better. I just kinda hear a cleaner guitar sound with some slapback echo, just seems to be what it calls for to my ears.

Whatever you did toward the end for those sound effects doesnt work for my ears, LOL, in fact is sounds like you imposed something from some rap song into it, just my impression.

Overall a nice song, good structure, I like the tone of your vocals on this one, it fits the feel of the song.

I do agree the snare does get a little old to me, maybe turn it back into the mix some, the keys I would drop on this one if it were me.

Dont take anything I say as negative, Im just thinking if I did this song what would I do different, and that by no means, means Im right or wrong. I think you have a very good framework for a really good catchy song there, just needs some tightening up on the lead lines for me, and just drop a couple of the effects out of it, if your going to keep those I would suggest fading the song when that starts up, or as its almost faded out maybe pump a little of that into the mix.

Keep On Rockin!

Thanks to all

It's tough to find a good drummer K-MO

Exactly Mr Scott, and there is no one around to hear it.

Thanks JCP I've been in a few disreputable pool halls,
actually I've been thrown out of a few disreputable
pool halls, for my conduct, if you can believe that.
Your right your not me.

Hey JW it's all good, I just started recording a couple
of months ago and I am experimenting with the process.
Thanks for the compliment and the advice, some of it will
take a few days and experimenting for me to really understand
everything your saying. I'm recording 21 songs at home and
putting them on CD and then giving copies to and lead sheets
to the musicians I'd like touse on a record. Then in the fall or
earlier winter go into the pro studio and record.

JCP I don't mean to be an asshole to you (perhaps I can't help
it), but I tried to use several musicians off of bandmix and even
more off of craigslist, and have found the talent level is not up
to a level I'm looking for. I really don't want to play in a working
band, but I know a lot of top rate musicians that do and I'm
going to try to draw from this talent pool of musicians.

Like Stephen King said 96% of the people in the world are inert,
1% genius, 1% retarded and 2% are assholes. (That quote is close)

Guess that means you've got to keep looking! After a lot of searching and CL ads I realized that if the person/band does not provide any online links to tunes or videos, they probably not up to the level I'm looking for. Looking through the older profiles here at BM, I found 1 local guy who had some songs posted that I liked the sound of, but no contact info, so I searched him out on Facebook and now we've been working on a duo act.

I did give a listen yesterday, I wanted to give another listen today but there is something wrong with my puter this morning, or there is no song on your player.
From what I remember 2012 was the title had a kind of country swing about it. Sounded like it could be an acoustic tune with a cleaner lead on top. I think JW eluded to that in his comments.
It did fall off at the end. Wasn't sure if you were adding some dissidant sound for effect... if so make it bigger more shock!
Your vocals are ok but I think you'll agree you and I are not singers! lol!!
Lyrically is why i really needed to listen again. From what I recall kind of a Kiss your Ass Good-bye humor piece!
I think the over-all idea has some good possibilities.

Keep at it man.

Remember what I said in a different thread about your windows classic media player or VLC needed to be updated for the new codecs.

Update that and now even worse, the flash player just popped out a new version so you should update that as well.

3 things you always want to update..

1) flash player
2) java
3) whatever browser you are using. (I prefer firefox, but opera is ok as well)

Then you can always try to update your player itself.
(I had to update VLC or as of a day ago, nothing would play at all)

If you have any issues, write and we'll figure it out.

I didn't see the thread but thanks for the info. Capt. This is the first time I had this happen.

Yeah. Thanks Bandmix and Adobe. Now I can't listen to songs on this site as well as not being able to view videos.

My browser won't upload the new Adobe and I'm not about to buy new stuff just because those a$$holes want me to spend more money on computers and OS.

I have XP but it is too vulnerable to viruses and I would have to learn how to delete adds from my Internet service all over again. Virus protection takes too long to load. It's a low rent provider and I found out how to get inside their OS and block the adds that they pummel me with every time I go on line. Not sure if I can find the tool in XP to do that. Besides, that still wouldn't allow me to view vids.

Guess the only thing left for me is to go on the forums and pi$$ off me mates... :)

Gee... I hope they aren't listening to this.........
