Hi there, I've started my first band here in Vancouver called LingoVivo ... i'd like to ask your opinion about a few things 1) lead singer may be female + 4 male musicians - is there more to be concerned about when touring than with a guys only band 2) what do you think of the name LingoVivo and 3) has anyone used indigogo to help you get started on your own musical venture[url] http://www.indiegogo.com/LingoVivo-The- ... of-English
and if you have, were you successful ?
Spreading the above indiegogo link (Facebook for example) would be very helpful. Thanks.

Unfortunately there is plenty to think about when having a female in an otherwise all-male band. Alliances and romantic ventures creep in, and women tend to be more moody. The boys in the band may feel restrained to not tell certain jokes and stories, and the tension level is usually higher. But the trade-off is the band has a higher profile and gets noticed easier, particularly if the woman is attractive. At this point I would have to avoid it but do what's best for you.

Also - a woman in the band can also bring tension between the guy members and their girlfriends/wives, or even between male members who are "competing" for her attention.

Band name - maybe that works for latino crowd, but any name that can be mispronounced, will be.
