Okay, you got me. I find it difficult to listen to, prolly because I got yelled at so much as I was growing up. Once I hear the screaming, I seem to shut down. Perhaps you kids just had it too easy growing up, cuz if you'd been hollered at like us older folk, this wouldn't appeal to you, either!



It all seems to come back to those modern parenting methods, doesn't it?

I mean, I USE chainsaws, but not as rating scales. Imho, a chainsaw is a necessary evil for cutting downed trees & creating heat for my winter. It isn't a sound that I would seek out for pleasure, cuz it indicates hard work to me, & has nothing to do with fun & entertainment.



Seriously, one cookie monster sounds like another to me, with the possible exception of some dynamics. How can this style of vocalization even be rated? It often sems to have no meter, which makes it UNmusical to my ear. It has no melody, & without meter, is lacking in percussive qualities as well, unlike rap. There also seems to be no REASON for the vocalist to be screaming, when the lyric is so lacking in rage, & it ends up sounding silly to me.

I know - I'm old & I don't get it. Please explain its appeal so I can better understand.

loved the music it rocked like f**k but sorry not into the whole painful screaming, does it hurt after u sing a song lol. i get some people are into this and my friend would totally idolise you so ill send her your link but for me its a no no sorry, i was kind of scared listening to it i kept thinking of all the horror movies that terrified me as a child hee hee xx

lol i know this guy, he is by far and away the best vox vocalist ive ever heard his range is huge he also has an awesome clear voice, its also funny because as a person he is really calm and quiet but get him up on a stage and he would blow most vocalists away without even trying

As a metal artist my self,
It's not bad!
It's more the black metal vocals in my opinion, However It's good within the genre.

I find alot of people on here very rude against your chosen genre.

It's like us saying, Congratulations you make pop music, One of the most basic genre's in existence. (Of course I don't mean this, it's an example.)

Liked the vocal cept during the chorus. Get someone else to sing behind you to create some melody at that point. The guitar line makes it sound "nice" needs a harmony to go along with it. IMO.
You can still come off as dark and scary with melody.

I'm not hugely into Black metal myself (I hope I used the right term there). BUT, for what you're doing they're great vocals.

i want to hear your actual voice.the music absolutely kicks ass but the swallowing of the mike is absolutely horrible.if you sang like halford you`d be over the top.can you see yourself doing this when your older?of course not you`d be to embarrest to do so.this is what takes down all screamo bands,horrible and i do mean horrible vocals.

I dont actually hold the mic in my mouth, I hold it the same distance as any ''regular'' singer. I think the problem you have is that metal has evolved from the days when Rob Halford started out, and being of that generation you just dont get the new type of metal that is around. Im not embarrased by my vocals nor will be in the future, and Im sure you remember back in the early days of metal how older people viewed it.......much in the same way you view my style of metal now. Shame

A couple of things.. As far as growling goes, you carry it very well... Good , consistent and determinate...very good quality of presentation of that form.

Now, The other thing, The song itself (From the You tube vid) actually throws room in there for dramatic lyrical articulation... AKA Melodic Drama... Having said that, growling on certain breaks and bridges just doesn't do the song justice. Might I suggest a different vocal texture in the middle and sub-phased parts... In fact keep thegrowls and overdub a 2nd texture. That ensures a preservation of the underlying spirit of the song, while expanding to a new plane of it.

Whoa "black metal/hardcore" types can use harmony and actually sing together?

I am unsure of the validity of this statement.

Do they sing in unison/harmony/etc >?
I honestly thought all people in this type of genre are solo vocals followed by an interjection of another vocal just for break up.

Awsome, the vocals rock. Sounds good and has a distinct tone to it. Kinda like the guy from at the gates on the "slughter of the soul" album.

Id definatly go and see you guys on the strength of that one song. The only thing I dont like is the widdley guitar solo stuff. I generally dont like that but I understand there are people who love it, so I wont bang on about it.

Honestly and I listen to a lot of music. Especially like this. The sound is very bland. There's very little accentuation in the growls. It would be like "If you talked in a monotone would you expect people to listen?" .. No accentuation in vocals is almost on par with a spoken monotone. I'd suggest working on that more with your style. And honestly I'd love to hear the tune pop out a bit more. Possibly working out the bass and lead segments more. I am not in a band but from the time I'm awake to time I sleep I'm listening to music. I love music like this. However, I'd consider your music if I ran across it as a sleeper band. And skip over it. You do have a nice voice and its a nice band, just seems theres not the greatest meshing going on.

By no means have I said, or will I say you are bad. I just think could be improved.

As for the distance of my mic. I actually stand about half a room distance away from my mic and project what I want. This can be easily heard in other samples. I just change the room variance as needed within my music editor. I'd say I stand about 3-5 feet away.
