James Brown fined his band members for playing ONE wrong note, not for screwing up a performance. It got so bad that his band came to him and asked him to stop fining them, they had to eat. He fired the entire band. I'm not beyond reproach , feel free to criticise me all you want, just don't withhold my pay. Although now that I think about it I think the last time anybody criticised me was 1989. That was for varying the tempo. The person criticising me was a graduate of a music conservatory. The next rehearsal we had him bring a metronome to test our timing. EVERY song was perfect. So the last time anybody thought I was wrong, they were mistaken...

That's a talented performer who can hear
one note wrong, maybe us as band members
should heed what they say. It's obvious they've
got a ear, perhaps you could learn something
from them. I hate playing with know-it-alls,
cause most of them don't know sh#t.
