GLEN TROUBLE J wrote:Energy! ... The ability to power our amps, and drive our cars to the stores, and play on our computers, and heat our homes, and land a man on different celestial land mass, and feed all of mankind.
In the old days, it was done by conquering a people and enslaving them to work the fields and driving the grindstone to free up the horses and mules for more important things.... Warfare and more enslavement.
I am stunned by the policies and path that this country and the worlds nations have taken to understanding this simple equation.
European nations have signed a global warming "CAP AND TRADE " agreement. Starting last week all airline tickets to the European nations cost 33 dollars more to pay for this "AGREEMENT" This amounts to nothing more than a tax in the name of saving the planet Earth. The question is,,, who the hell is collecting all this money and how the hell is this going to save our planet!!!! Talk about theft and misguided TAXES.
Obama is a HUGE proponent of "CAP AND TRADE". He has openly stated that such an agreement will necessarily raise our energy costs. How about $20 dollars a gallon for gas, or heating oil. How about a dollar a minute to watch TV or run a 60 watt light bulb. How about the fact that a small chicken for dinner, used to be 3$, now due to transportation, production, storage, market, and all the other cost of producing FOOD,,,,, That same chicken is costing about 9$ around here. Talk about all the pain and suffering these food prices are causing AMERICANS especially the elderly. WAIT 'TILL ENERGY PRICES DOUBLE AGAIN! Yeah go ahead and and pass "CAP AND TRADE" It will just be another tax that will only fill the pockets of a few in the quest for global domination. Go ahead laugh,,,, while you still have enough food to barely stay alive.

This administration is following a path of treason to the American people. This Administration wants all of us financially weakened by treasonous energy policies that endanger not only our daily way of life but the whole world by usurping our leadership role that can lead us into the 25 century,,, of complete chaos due to energy needs. WWWHHHAATT. You are nuts Glenny.......... No I'm not.

The EPA has made drill permit times go from 2 weeks to up to 2 years. We have more oil reserves than Saudi Arabia. Nat gas, we have more here than any where in the world, a 100 years worth. Coal, Obama promised in 08 that he was elected, he was going to put the coal miners "OUT OF BUSINESS". Over 50% of our electricity come from coal powered plants. Go ahead and plug you new "GREEN" electric car in. TO WHAT???? Our EPA is shutting down old coal electric plants as fast as CHINA is putting up even dirtier burning ones. HELLO, Which way does the wind blow? Nuclear? FOGEDABOUT IT. The NRC doesn't want any new plants, they want to close the ones that are running. Wind power,Solar, GREAT. Except they are out of the reach of the average American and at this point in time the only people that can afford them are people subsidized by tax dollars that come from the same people that can't afford them. The average solar panel with inverter,(electrical converter) runs about 750$. The average home needs about 50 panels to "BREAK EVEN".

OK,,, So GLENNY why would you cal this TREASONOUS?
Because every energy policy we are following is hurting every Americans welfare. We are no longer talking about just staying warm in the winter or cool in the summer,,, Now we are talking about food.
Here is the kicker! The one National Think Tank, The one national brain trust we had. The one agency that even with monumental waste has produced more good in my life time than I could list has been defunded and systematically dismembered. That one agency that can lead us into the 25 century, but for now it is crippled, is NASA. Treason? yes because this all adds up to fundamentally destroying AMERICA, destroying AMERICAN LIVES, and an attempt at destroying all hope, for hope, and all change for the good.

If you all want to elect a president that lead us into darkness,,, That is what you will get.
I don't see any leaders on the horizon. God help us all.

Really? REALLY?!!! Do you drone on, and on with this sort of verbal diarrhea in person?

Is that the best you have beefy? No solutions, no actualization and forward thinking. Just personal attacks. No music up, or any solutions. Why would you even bother to get involved? Hate?
You just keep on trying to dish it out. Mean while folks like you are chasing good musicians, with fun stories and great music away.
Me... I really don't give a damn what you think. You are not even worth insulting! Have a nice day GFAF!!!!!

I appreciate your passion Glen, but you're misinformed and misguided...

You're a cruise missile pointed at your own country, bent on destroying what you wish to save, and you don't even know it.

It would be nice to get you educated and get you pointed in the right direction. We can't have enough passionate people in this world. We could enact real change if we had more passionate people fighting for the right causes.

I mean, take your oil argument, for instance. What are you trying to argue? That oil is an infinite resource so we should just ignore taxes on fossil fuels?

Take a step back and think about what you're advocating.

Okay, let's assume for a second that oil is not a product of dinosaur fossils (something I tend to agree with; I've read the peak oil stuff too). Let's suppose that oil is created through some other means and is actually "renewable".

Even so, if that were the case, it's not a quick process. It's glacial in terms of speed. We're consuming oil far faster than it's being produced. Which logically means that even IF it is a renewable resource, our consumption is going to out-pace it's creation. We're going to strip ourselves of this resource, whether it's renewable or not.

Now, I know you can't be so dumb as to ignore the reality of that train of thought. Follow that thread out to its conclusion - where does it lead us? What happens when the fuel runs out? Hell, what happens when it starts to get REALLY LOW? You know as well as I do what will happen...

One way or another, we're going to run out of oil.

So the question of where oil comes from is essentially irrelevant. The real question we need to be asking is: how do we prepare for the inevitable?

We have to find alternative sources of energy that don't rely on finite resources. Even better - energy methods that are clean, renewable, and incredibly productive...

And how do we go about doing that? Better question: how do we go about funding that?

In a capitalistic society, where the bottom-line is all that matters, the rich corporations and the billionaires of the world have no interest in spending money on finding cheap, renewable sources of energy. It cuts into their profits and provide them no real long-term gain. I mean, if you're BP, do you want to find renewable energy? Or do you want to keep oil prices climbing so you and your shareholders can be rich?

And this is where it gets sad. Because you, and so many people like you, are so short-sighted, you are talking about voting for Republicans - the party that represents the 1% - the ultra-rich and the corporations - the political party that WANTS to keep YOU poor and THEM rich. The one political party in our system that is LEAST likely to solve this problem, that is MOST likely to maintain the status quo, that political party that wants to keep pumping oil and not researching new, cleaner methods; the one political party that has a history of deregulating clean air and water, poisoning our cities and communities in the name of corporate profits.

And that's who you want to support?

Please - redirect your cruise missile status. Help save our planet. The only way we're going to be able to maintain this little blue ball that we all have to share and live on is if we cultivate all the passionate people together and fight for real change; fight for clean air and water; fight for clean and renewable sources of energy. If we don't do this stuff now, if we don't pay for this now, then our children, and our grandchildren, are going to be the ones who suffer.

And the taxes they will have to pay to try and fix our short-sightedness will dwarf what we are facing today.

Chris you and way to many are approaching this with eyes closed and such shorted views filled with lies and distortions. I bet you still believe flight 800 blew up to total smithereens because of a spark in a wing tank that under FAA rules for an international flight should have been full, instead it was ,EMPTY???
This is all going to come down to control globally. This is not just about the US. This is an open door to tyranny. OK. you explain were this new cap and trade money (tax) that was just imposed on flights to Europe is going to help save the planet, huh, You tell me. $35 bucks a ticket. I'll tell you. Some rich hitler is going to collect it and find a whole new way to kill babies and women. If you think it's OK... OK.

QUOTE, from Chris, We have to find alternative sources of energy that don't rely on finite resources. Even better - energy methods that are clean, renewable, and incredibly productive... I TOTALLY AGREE!

And how do we go about doing that? Better question: how do we go about funding that? / GLEN, We had funding for THAT. Not a corporation, BUT, an incredible national treasure trust of BRAIN WEALTH that was encouraged to "THINK OUTSIDE THE BOX" Nasa has created more wealth, new companies, jobs, products, and DREAMS. Truly showed American brilliance, innovation, and resolve. WHY DID OBAMA KILL THIS AMERICAN DREAM? Explain that man, please.... It also explains your next quote.

In a capitalistic society, where the bottom-line is all that matters, the rich corporations and the billionaires of the world have no interest in spending money on finding cheap, renewable sources of energy. END QUOTE.
What the heck is wrong with the bottom line being important. DO YOU GO TO WORK FOR FREE? DO YOU GIG FOR FREE? DO YOU EXPECT SOME ONE TO TAKE CARE OF YOUR EVERY LITTLE PROBLEM?
Thats the problem when people get turned around and they stop accepting their own responsibilities and just want to be told what to DO. MAN THATS not America and all the people that think it will be that easy to take us down are very mistaken. ( that is my global view)

But then again I'm just another stupid American with very anti socialism views , anti communist views, and very pro individual achievement views. You think that is wrong. I would love to sit down and jam. After that you would realize all I want is to see, is for you to get better as a player and succeed.

QUOTE from CHRIS /And this is where it gets sad. Chris , "Your Party just shut down NASA. Your Party doesn't want us to drill , frack, build new refineries, dig coal, build nuke reactors, allow pipelines from Canada,,,, Your party wants us to sit in the dark in cold uninformed houses, It is affecting every aspect of American Life. Your party wants all our older people decide if they eat or heat,[fixed incomes]. Your thinking is allowing not only an incredible transfer of wealth but also an incredible transfer of power to the few.
POOR,POOR, These corporations DON"T MAKE ME POOR. They have made all of us wealthier than any other other people in the world. These corporations have provided more stable employment and goods and services, AND THE OPPORTUNITY FOR ADVANCEMENT, than ANY OTHER GOVERNMENT IN THE WORLD.
It is only when government steps in guided by the truly greedy handed individuals , allowed to manipulate the system, to control the masses, is their failure. I.E. Germany,WW2. Followed by Death.

You sir are a good player, but I beg you to back your rhetorical response with some outward bound thinking. If you read the original post , you would see, we agree on more than you see,,,, or has your own personal hatred of me, blinded you also?

Oy Vey!.... always with the "republicans'...!

Hey Kids! Here's today's Bonus Questions!

What Party was the guy in, who ordered the atomic and nuclear bombing of Japan, and caused the death of over Two-Hundred thousand innocent men women and children? (What party was he in?)

What party was responsible for the guy, who never 'inhaled'; who got a blow job by a chick, who never 'swallowed', and who endorsed a megalomania, who ultimately scammed a Nobel peace prize...for doing nothing?

What party was the guy in, who botched the infamous Iranian Hostage rescue,

What party sponsored the woman, who told all the senior citizens of America, they would just have to vote for the Healthcare bill, to see what was in it?

What party just robbed your kid(s)' future solvency, by bailing out the most economic failures of American history...

I can't see anyone beating Obama at this point. The Reps can't seem to get it together, Paul can't overcome Romney and too many conservatives and independents can't get behind Romney. Better get used to Obama, he's gonna be around a while.

Jimmy, us conservatives have not made up our minds yet in spite of the liberal agenda that wants us to believe we have. There has only been a few primary's there is still a LONG way to go! Once we make up our minds TRUST me we will come together as a force that hasn't been reckoned with for a LONG time. To answer your question I will take ANYONE over the current administration. Can you not tell how wide the gap is? I believe you are a good person we just have a difference of opinion when it comes to politics and religion. But thats okay!
