CREATIVE MUSIC COMPOSITION
* I give voice to musical notes etc, that I imagine others wouldn't consider. However that alone can render me simply reacting slavishly to "their" choices.
* So, I can break that rule, by choosing without thinking about what "they" would do. To choose without being controlled by others; Freedom. However, I might still not be "Free", because I may be controlled by deeply engrained music traditions that I carry around, and am unaware of. One reason to study music (theory etc) is to become aware of the rules (tradition), so that one can then, break away from them.
* I can also "choose" to attach my note preferences (etc), to elements beyond me, beyond my control. Examples: Attach the preference criteria of note choices to the needs of a lyric sheet. I can also attach the preference criteria of my note choices to the design of a building, or of a leaf, or to a feeling that a lover left in my memory.
