Last night on the way home from rehearsal (I LOVE) listening to
"Coast To Coast" they had "Erin Brokovich" on and I must say that was and is very interesting to me! She was at one point commenting on how so many young people around the country (in their 20's) have rare cancer's.
Earlier in the evening just as we were beginning rehearsal my wife had left a message on my cell phone. Asking if our son 16 could have a friend 15 spend the night. Normally we don't allow a child to spend the night on a work night. I could tell from the sound of Dawns voice that I should Probably say Yes! Again I have to witness that I believe I am (married to an ANGEL)! As I called her while leaving rehearsal Dawn explained to me that this boy had a brother that has a RARE form of cancer. And the family has been very stressed and that this boy that has spent All of his time by his older brothers side and could use a break. Well Nothing is better for these young men than to be in a barn with animals. Tonight I came home from work and was chillin when there was a very strong knock at the door. I got up and answered the door. I thought it was this young mans mother. she asked is Wyatte here I said no but I'll call Dawn I am sure that Bret (my son) just wanted to work with his steer. It was at this point I called Dawn and sure enough that was the case. I asked Wyatte's Mom if she wanted to wait while Dawn brought the kids back from the barn. Well Dawn showed up with the boys and we had a nice visit. As Wyatte was leaving he made it a point to shake my hand (firmly) and I asked him is that the first time you have been in a barn son. He answered yeah to which I replied it's cool Huh!
I have to say after they left I learned, that wasn't Wyatte's mom that was his sister in law (his dying brothers wife)! I am telling you folks that is one brave WOMAN! So I asked Bret where is Wyatte's mom to which he replied she WAS dating a man that stabbed her to death
