Crunchy who cares what the amatuers
or the pros think, it's what you think
that matters. I agree with alot of what's
been said here on this thread.Klug I think
you hit it on the head it's a talent level at least
in music.

First time i ever heard of a poser was back in the 80's. During the "Hair Band" days. Usually some good looking guys with spandex or ripped jeans that would look like superstars but when they got up on stage and got ready to play it wasn't about the music. Just how they looked. But they always got the girls. :?
I didn't know people still used that word.

I believe everyone has something to contribute regardless of their level. Nobody knows it all.
But you still consider the source.
Just do what you do. Sometimes you're the teacher other times the student.

I don't know about musicians being posers. If you have learned to play an instrument at all even at the lowest level then you are a beginner not a poser. If you get up on a bandstand and play poorly you are still an unaccomplished musician.

Previously I only related posers to the guys who buy a new Harley and trailer, dress head to toe in new leathers as they ride in their mobile homes while hauling their scoots to the Sturgis Rally and Races. And then off load them in town to stand next to their bikes and ask passers by to take pictures of themselves so they can show to the folks back home. :)

LOL now that biker thats a poser! How could you have a Harley and not ride it! A few years back one of my sons friends came to the house on his new Fatboy. He says Mr. Haley I want you to ride my bike. I said son I haven't ridden a bike in years to which he replied I have insurance don't worry! I got on that bike and I "rode like the wind" That boy practically had to shoot me to get me off (I had known him since he was pip squeak)

I feel better about being here now, after hearing everyone's posts. I am just left with the question I ask myself "why do threads so often end with my posts?" I really am not trying to piss people off, though they might be. Some may accuse me of being a Bible pounder. For that, I cannot apologize. I try to speak my feelings as real as they come to me. Jesus was also a Bible pounder. I try not to start a political topic, unless it has musical relativity, although I may be guilty of that. I do respond to those political starts if I feel strongly enough to have an opinion. I am thankful for those of you that forgive me and take some of what I say with a grain of salt. Like much of what is produced in the mass mediums, it is only funny because it is public. :P

For the record, Jesus was not a bible pounder

If I were to constantly talk about The Father, and how you should live your life according to the Gospel, I know I would be a Bible pounder. By the same criteria, Jesus was not? For the record, it's all good news.

I will say this once and not elaborate, but isnt the Golden Rule "Do unto others as you would want them to do unto you".

If thats the case if someone wants to talk to you about the bible then fine talk away, if they disagree with you then let it go.

Ive learned on here and other places to just try to treat folks with the same respect that i expect from them, even if I feel everything they say is full of sh*t. If it bothers me that bad for some reason, then I just dont engage with them. To me whats the point in winning an internet game of who is right or wrong?

Thats my take on it all.

Crunchy you can borrow a song on my player, The Day That Jesus Died.

Its got a great guitar solo, I layered 5 guitars on there doing harmony.

Ive actually recorded 2 Christian Rock CDs, that song didnt get on either one of them for some reason it was an outtake. But after listening to it, it was one of my favorites from that time period in my life.

As Christians, we are supposed to live like Jesus. I'm far from that and some can do that well. I do try. I have my cross to bear. My conscience gets in the way of some of my posts. Sometimes, to me, being a Christian and a musician is an oxy moron. You're just the victims of my struggle. My apologies.

Crunchy are you OK?

You sound down man, if anything we are all given talents by a higher power, or God or whatever you want to call it. I dont think that a higher power would give you a talent and not expect you to use it in some way.

If you are driven by God then make sure it is in a positive way. As long as you do that, I dont see the problem.

Smile man, its good to me just to wake up in the morning, thats a gift and I try to use it in a positive way everyday!

Welcome to the club.

Those whom are not spiritual or whom are quite resistant to the whole notion like to point out how Christians are hypocrites.

I'm like no sh*t asshole I'm a sinner ...DUH!

The other side is the Christians whom think their "goodness" will be their salvation.
I can smell those f**k burning a mile off.

Yes and I use profanity freely to make a point.

Christ suffered died for all of us because we are all the same. We all fall short of the glory of GOD.

That is one awesome sacrifice. God made man sinless sacrificed himself to the most brutal of deaths when he could have just walked away ... all for a sorry motherfucker like me.

I'll sing his praise till they throw dirt in my face here on earth and for eternity in heaven.

See you there.
