I called and couldn't even leave a message for the drummer. This guy had given me the cold shoulder so many times. It may sound bad, but I don't want them to succeed, cause they're asses.

You see, the drummer and guitarist have been friends since they were 16, and the vocalist played with them for 5 years(15 shows) so as you can see, I'm the new guy. I'm good for playing. I won't be missed.

Not sure if I want to call. If I do I'll let him know I got a new bass rig. Just so he realizes I've been more genuine than all of them put together the whole time.

NEXT CHAPTER: Left a message. Told the guy there was good news and bad news, but none of the news really benefitted anyone. Mentioned my new rig, told him I was leaving due to members being more obligated than me and me wanting more. Saying it would set me back and put pressure on the rest of the band(yeah right!) I did mention how hard it was to make the call, but I wished him good luck and hung up. I'm sure my message didn't sound as clear as my post did though...I felt like falling apart as I spoke.

Now, see you at open mic tonight, right? :D
Just getting over a cold, so I likely won't play tonight - maybe I will, depends. Cheers mate!

Let me know if you're playing later on via Facebook. I thought you were playing in Walnut Creek last time but didn't read it right. I can make it anytime though...and I need to! Red Hat in Concord, right? Let me know bro. :D

You don't need a long written out explanation, just tell them you want to pursue other things - in business, career decisions, never burn bridges you don't need to burn, even if you hate the bridge with a passion. Just choose not to cross the bridge - one day, you may find yourself running for a bridge, and that one bridge you hate but left standing, may get to where you need to be in a crunch one day.

Cheers!

Jams is very wise. Just because you want to poke em in the eye doesn't mean you should. Very few good vibes come from leaving on bad terms.

This really sucks. I met some cool people on the side that I most likely won't see around anytime soon. Oh well, the right choices aren't always the pleasant ones. I could get over more abuse faster by getting robbed in the ghetto rather than slowly getting pulled apart by these guys. My only real regret is that I didn't leave sooner. I always gave it another chance, and then another. Geez...Self-respect vs. neediness. I'll take my self-respect...better late than too late!
