I found a bass player that I really liked for a new sound in music I want to start (i'm the producer) and I can't even send an E-mail to her(no info on her for it) and I have to get premium to send her a message, i'm new at this-about 2 weeks now, and I have to say nothing frustrates me more right now than this, all I gotta say is this blows hard! Please tell of an experience that this has happened to you.

You wanna know why so many things suck? Cause everybody wants it all for free.... Here's a novel concept... Spend the $25 for the three month subscription and then email your bass player... Its that simple, bro...

If she is that important to you, spend the 10 bucks. It's a small price to pay for something that important.
I will say my site was visited by a player again and again when I finally visited his, in his description he mentioned me and asked me to contact him via posted e-mail. Some people add their personal E-mail address or phone number as a way to get around the monthly fee. You might try the same.

One thing I'll say about this site. They let you do A LOT of things here for FREE! However they have to pay the bills too. At some point they have to generate revenue in order to have the site. They can't pull money out of the air it has to come from SOMEWHERE and IMO $10.00 is not unreasonable!

I tend to subscribe then let it run out for a month or two, the resubscribe. Over the last few years I've made enough connections through here that I feel it's been more than worth the money. Craigslist sucks for a reason. I've found that the people who contact me who are serious about what they are doing are all people from bandmix who subscribe AND have audio up on their profile. It demonstrates a level of commitment and in the end has saved me a lot of wasted time. I've seen a lot of people have the same knee jerk reaction as you. This SUXORZ!! Really though, join the community for a few months and see if it's worth it to you. If not let it run out. One good musical hook up is easily worth 10 or 25 bucks. Best of luck dude.

This generation gets their music free and expects everything else to be free as well. Here's an idea: work and pay your way.

Sounds like me last night telling my 17yr "NO I- PHONE UNLESS YOU'RE WILLING AND ABLE TO PAY THE DIFFERENCE ON THE BILL"!
Jimmy can you imagine some of our younger players going out and putting flyers on cars and light poles and club walls? Times sure have changed.
I subscribe to this site yearly, because I like a lot of the posters here, its not that expensive. Gives me a place to post some of my goofy ass music, and try and give more novice players some advice on playing live. Most of my post are from personal experience. Not som hairbrained idea of how its supposed to work.
I think if you truelly need a bass player, then you need to get out to clubs in your area and find someone that is actually out playing, most of the people online are that, online. I thought when I first found this place and many others that everyone was serious and really getting out and playing music, sadly I found out thats not true. If you need a player, get out there where folks are playing is the best advice I can give.
Good Luck with your music

Try and run an ad in your local music paper,,, cost just as much or more.
I like what JW said, Go play some open Mics. I posted about Pam Betti. Her guitarist was out of playing for a long time. He started playing at open mic nights and hooked up with Pamela. But he is good, he wasn't just looking for someone to make him sound good.
Aint nothing free.

"Why God, why?" Consider becoming a premium member like tithing at church....
Really? $10?
If $10 stands between you and your musical drive do us a favor and give up.

Hmmmm,
As the producer of this "new sound" surely you have lots of excellent examples of your music posted up on your BM page along with a long list of credits and testimonials of others you have produced, to attract top musicians who might want to work with you....... or ...... not.
Sun City CA. We are playing a country club resort out near there on Saturday.
Free = Craigslist and you get exactly what you pay for.
