So this is what it has come down to. If you are a true blue American that stands for a great sounding guitar, vote Gibson.

If you are weak kneed socialist, with communist ideals, vote for Leo.

See how important music really is?

Most of you won't understand this humor!!

Some of you will actually take it seriously. Now that's really funny!

Gibson has gone downhill lately, awful finishes and shoddy craftsmanship

A vote for OBAMA,,, MEANS the end of shoddy workmanship at the Gibson guitar factory. We will forever end the misery of those poor oppressed workers, that are putting out such shoddy workmanship.

They may loose their jobs,,, BUT,,, never again will they be held accountable for making crappy guitars.

I've had occassion over the last six months to play a wide variety of Gibson guitars, mostly LP variations plus a Fbird and an SG. A pal bought a Les Paul Studio which actually isn't bad. The really high end LP I played was so sweet I almost got a tooth ache.

Bottom line - the best LPs are wonderful works of art - easy to play and sound great. So are the best Fenders - of which I have both a Tele and a Strat which are in that category.

The reason I have Fender is simple - the necks work better for me (maple). When I want a Gibson sound I have my Seymour Duncan pickup in the strat.

I have owned an SG Delux and a very hot LP Jr. but ultimately, for me at least, it all comes down to playability. I admit my Tele Esquire does pretty much one thing - that Telecaster thing - really well. The Strat Lonestar makes up the difference. Both play like soft butter on hot toast.

If I get another six string - for me, it will be a high end Jackson Explorer with maple neck.

I respect Gibson immensly and I'm glad they are there. Its just a question of personal preference.

Disclamer - I've owned a couple Gibson basses too, including TBird and EBO and hated them. Gibson basses just don't feel right. But that is another debate altogether...

It's because they're not made in Michigan anymore :)

I have Fenders and Gibsons but play the Strat 90% of the time. They're just more versatile. If I need a metal sound I use a Paul.
