Did you use the rototoms as is or did you tune them to a certain note?

I wasn't quite up on this until recently, excuse my ignorance please.

I was under the impression that once the head was on correctly, that was that.

I still like keyboard/synthesizer, watched a band play
at Downstream the other night, they had a keyboard
for the singer. He played the start to Fox on the Run
by Sweet and used it to accompany several other tunes
they did. It kinda gave him a space to work out of, most
the time he danced around singing. He really made use of
minmal piano skills, playing in a pro band, and he was a
really good singer and showman.

Again the input is appreciated.

Only Mary would think to list generic percussion on a yahoo search ...
Why did I not think of that?
Some good ideas there.

We have congas available ( ray has a nice set ) and we have tried them with less than satisfactory results.
Who knows, its been a couple of years we may give them another shot as we are more comfortable with our signature sound these days.

We attempted several different tunings on the roto toms.
I don't know, the guys kinda liked them but I was never thrilled with the feel ( sound ) they imparted.

I'd love to have someone on keys LD.
But not thrilled of the prospect of adding yet another personality to the mix. Or finding someone we can count on to have the same dedication and focus as the rest of the band.
By the conversations I've had here and elsewhere it would seem a near miracle that we have five guys on the same page as it is.
