I'd like to take what you said point by point but there is no point to doing that. I agree with what your saying. I remember the carburator your talking about, and I remember the schematic drawings that were being published on a personal budget. It worked contrary to how fuel supplies are delivered to the combustion chamber by Heating the fuel before injection. It demonstrated this could be done many ways. Heating the fuel air mixture before it goes into the intake makes it expand- taking in less, the particles are smaller- said to be more efficient, but in the end cannot be forced with enough bulk for the bang. Sure, you can turbo-Charge it, or put a Blower on it, the answer they came up with was Fuel Injection.- And Cooled fuel-air mix to keep it small, under pressure until Electronically Ignited. Ever heard of H.E.I.? It's so common place today, only antiques are marked with those terms. Your right about the tea party, but the taxes were levied on the one thing England felt they could control-Tea.

Nope.

The history books they gave you in school were often quite inaccurate. From the Encyclopedic Dictionary of American History ©1970 Washington Square Press:

Boston Tea Party (Dec 16, 1773)

Colonists masquerading as Indians boarded three tea ships of the British East India Company and threw the tea into Boston Harbor.

Colonial merchants feared that the entry of the low priced tea would establish a monopoly for the British company and deprive them of a lucrative source of revenue. Colonists regarded the tea as symbolic of the growing interference in colonial trade by an increasingly active British government. It was felt that monopolies of other commodities might be established by Parliament if the tea monopoly was not resisted.

Parliament's reply to the destruction of the tea was a series of "Intolerable Acts," including closing of the port of Boston until the tea was paid for. The rest of the colonies rallied to the aid of Boston and brought the American Revolution a step closer.

ehhh who ya gonna believe? This says it a tad differently And I believe this one more)

Lets NOT impose undue TAX burdens on the corps that idealized the markets. To do so,will surely just kill them off. Then what have we got left to show?

Just the idea that corporations and extremely wealthy individuals pay their fair share of taxes just like us, which they currently do not do.

Really, You think, that the cost of doing Business in America for major corporations begins and ends with Taxes??? Dude, the PAC money alone more than compensates for tax loop holes and write-offs. And Mind you, If I hire you and your entire family of 10,000 brothers and sisters in smallville USA, I not only gotta pay my own SS, but I gotta pay yours too. Additionally, I have to match and pay into 'your' retirement (even against the wishes of my stockholders) for you... and on top of that I have to match the Workmans comp in some of your states... Then , lets talk about that F****G health care i have to pay a premium on , so that the hypochondriac wives and husbands can saturate the doctor's offices with frivolous aches and pains and run that bill way up the flag pole. . And lets not forget the dumb-ass lawsuits I have to pay because your cousin vinnie decided it was cool to run his tie trough my machine...while he was wearing it. If you wanna get pissed off at somebody, get pissed off at the elected Congress people, who pocket that tax & PAC money or the scum bag PI lawyers who penalize corps with astronomical fees. And if you ever need a job with my company, I'm big enough to forgo your biased prejudices against me and still hire you (Assuming you got the correct skills, and I have a budget) ... As your CEO it cost s me roughly 2 million dollars a day just to enjoy my one f**k ing cup of coffee in the morning..Now, you wanna tax the sh*t out of me some more??? f**k you buddy ...I'm moving to China and India and I'll hire out there, I'll pay 'their' taxes instead, and you all can kiss my ass... ;) (Not you personally...just stressing a point... )

Just wanted to play the devils advocate here...There are always two sides to everything.

If cousin Vinnie gets his tie caught in your machine, he can't even sue you or your corporation due to legal safeguards in place to protect business. Even though there was no guard on the machine that came with it when it was manufactured, the employee has to prove terse- intention that the guard was removed so that the employee would get hurt or killed. He'll have to pay to get his tie removed from his larynx himself. If he can't get a job as a model anymore because he can't wear his tie (same tie) right, Vinnie needs to get a different career.

Yo, Crunch - it was our 1st preacher pres, Jimmy Carter, who signed that law into effect, so a co cannot be sued by an employee even for criminal negligence, So much for the "liberal agenda," eh?

It bugs me when ppl automatically assume that so many are just "whiners," when they won't even discuss the problems.

Glen, I challenge you to climb down off your high horse, & actually talk about the issues, without calling anyone names. You seem to think that if you wave the "liberal whiner" flag often enough, thst it asserts your position quite well, when in fact, the opposite is true. You haven't proven a damned thing, other than the fact that you seem to have a problem with anyone who questions or challenges the status quo.

Well, my friend - the status quo is NOT working for far too many of us. The gap between the rich & the poor is widening, & the middle is being eradicated.

I claim that the middle is being erased by this erroneous notion that a "global economy" is a good thing for any American who isn't rich, already. I claim that the protections that we used to employ saved us, as a ppl, from becoming a 3rd world country, economically, & that throwing away all those protections is tantamount to shooting every middle class American in the foot & demanding that he run a race with little to no reward. Things simply cannot be made equal for all, & be fair, because, contrary to some beliefs, we are not all made equal in all things. it has nothing to do with "stealiing" anything from anyone. It is part & parcel of being a compassionate & caring culture, when we speak of equal health care, or fair wages, or being rewarded for a lifetime of achievement in one's retirement years. it's about a nation being responsible for the betterment of its ppl.

It is NOT about ppl being too lazy or too stupid or too demanding or too whiney. We regular Joes had so much more than we do now, just a few decades ago. it pisses me off to see our gov't's leaders & our co's pissing it all away, all while demanding ever more "compromises" (read that as "sacrifices") of us all, in the name of enormous, ever-growing, run-away corp profit & economic control of our very society.

You know Phil, of all the people that have such juxtaposed opinions, you are the most reasonable person of all.
I have tried to go line by line with some of the ideas posted here. When I post arguments that are difficult to get around, I see the very thing you accuse me of. This is a typical response by someone arguing from a weak point. Unfortunately this seems to be so typical that an ULTRA LIBERAL such as Pelosi is telling us that Boehner is drawing us to the DARK SIDE. Another congresswoman just likened TEA PARTY folks to terrorists trying to bomb Washington.
Name calling. All you liberals really hate it when it gets dished out, right back in your face.
Not one of you people that expect the government to take care of you cradle to death has explained SOCAL SECURITY. IT IS A PONZI SCHEME.
Go ahead, give it your best shot. As far as I'm concerned it is the same communist value, that has hindered your total development and individual self realization.
It's not corporations, its our government that is wiping you out.

As far as CRUNCH, He is a perfect example of a big boy that can't defend his positions without resolving and descending into the depths of psychoanalysis and religion. Thats why he is so funny.

You are not Phil, I take you seriously, but I wish you would get over this blaming corps. You keep trying to bite the hand that is sustaining our country. The only step I see you taking from here is total redistribution and government control over all business.
It's not going to happen as long as I'm breathing. Thanks for caring as much as I do, Phil. Hope things are getting better.
That money has to come from somewhere

Glen (one N- Also spelled wrong), Where have I said anything implying that the govt. should take care of me from cradle to grave. Just another example of you putting words in people's mouth to make your point. If you were the least bit educated, or appreciative of your education, you would know the difference between to, two or too. (That's 3 too's). Philby- That is the most insightful thing I read on Bandmix. Thank you! Glen (one N), I'm going to whisper to you a 4th too- so get close to the screen so you can hear me correctly------- PPTTTOOOOOOWY!

Talk about bustin ' on yourself,... your icon pic- Dude, (if you are really one), you look like Elton John- After he came out of the closet. If you were observant, you would know that 60ish men wearing BANGS are either wearing a bad tuppe' or I don't get the connection, but are strangely perverted, which you display in your posts anyway. Little Lord Flauntleroy? Prince Valiant? Or are you just going for that 6 year old boy look. Yeah, we should all take advice from you. NOT!

For those who believe in the God of Israel and the Bible, there is an easy answer.

Joh 3:27 John replied: No one can do anything unless God in heaven allows it.
Lam 3:37 No one can do anything without the Lord's approval.
Lam 3:38 Good and bad each happen at the command of God Most High.
Isa 45:7 I am the giver of light and the maker of the dark; causing blessing, and sending troubles; I am the Lord, who does all these things.

Perhaps we should take God to account, not men. It is God who apportions wealth to both the ungodly and the Godly as he sees fit.
Agnostics and atheists just ignore this post.

The word is Homophones. Words spelled differently that sound the same. There, their, they're.... two, to, too and on and on. The English language has the most of them.
Those appear to be the homophones used improperly the most frequently , :)

List of Homophones About 2,000 of them.

Geeze Jimmy, Didn't I say not to read that if you are an atheist or an agnostic? I didn't write it, I just copied and pasted it. Regardless, you're welcome. Perhaps you would also like these.....

(ALT) "Two sparrows are sold for an assarion [i.e. a small, Roman copper coin worth about 1/64 of an ounce or 0.22 grams of silver], are they not? And one of them does not fall on the ground without the [will] of your* Father.
Mat 10:30 "But even the hairs of your* head have all been numbered.
Mat 10:31 "Therefore, do not be frightened; you* are of greater worth than many sparrows.

I believe that implies that God has some say in the matters of men. But I didn't write that either, Jimmy... Just because we don't understand some things, that does not mean that God is not in control, nor is God subject to our wishes. If God is indeed the creator, then it is his choice to do whatever he wishes with his creation for whatever reason he chooses.

(BBE) For the natural man is not able to take in the things of the Spirit of God: for they seem foolish to him, and he is not able to have knowledge of them, because such knowledge comes only through the Spirit.

Didn't write that either. I'm just a paster when it comes to scripture, I have never written a word of it. I simply believe in it. :)

As horrific a tragedy that little girl faced, take solace knowing there are no children in Hell- if you believe there is such a place (I do). I also believe there is a heaven, which is where that little Anthony girl is irregardless of whether or not her mother was guilty or not or acquitted. Her mother is still here to be tormented on earth.
