Start here, the frist two are ok and the 3rd cost money but is a lot of fun.

Oh and one more thing...You have ears,
your friends have ears....Listen, listen, listen and listen some more until you get it right. It takes a lot of time and effort to do a right mix "even for the pros". Good luck

RG, I was hoping to find more in the area of specific artists who might have shared a secret or two about the Output settings they used in a solo or some track... Do you know of any sites that accommodate that sort of thing?
Thanks

99% of how recordings are done are guarded secrets and for good reason.
If you read this guys spec sheet and the process, you will get about a 90% insite of how all recordings are done for the pros. Very very few top 40 acts only have a "scrach the surface" idea on how there songs were mixed.

Oops forgot the link

I dont know where to find it, but I was readin somethin a few years ago and Jimmy Page had kept notes of how he recorded all the classic Zep stuff, it was interesting read, but like i said elsewhere just get some songs that sonically you like, and when you record something check your tracks against them thru the same speakers. Let your ears be your guide.

I absiolutely will check that book out... George Martin really was that 5th beatle, and his role was sorely under-played during those days...
