Hey, friends and associates.
Thanks for getting this far. :)
It occurred to me I should post at least one Blues song.

This song, "Molasses Blues," sounds a little different than most Blues, so you should enjoy hearing it.

It's a long bass line, and about 16-18 chords, I think. The whole recording is under 60 seconds.

If you play the blues, you should listen. I broke it down for examination - bass first, and chords 2nd.
.
I think the folks with the most experience might be the most interested.
.
Belle? Billy? Solo Joe? BluesGuitarGirl? And there's a couple of others - I forget your handles (sorry) . . .
.
Please click 'profile,' below, and go to my page.
It's the 3rd song: Molasses Blues.

And, if you're going to listen to just one more song, it should be the 2nd song "Frolicking Fingers." Its a different chord progression than you're used to.

Please invest a minute, and then click "Post Reply," below.

Tell me your first reaction, won't you?

Thanks, guys.

Alan - Very cool acoustic track, "Molasses Blues"! Again, interesting chording. Kind of sounds like a Western Jazz Blues fusion. Very unique walk downs B to E, and B to F#. It would be great to hear the bass and chord tracks together, but I know the file size limitations.

Thanks for this wakeup call, because I really need to get back to more intense chord work. JohnnyRocker has inspired me to this goal too. He really impressed me with the rhythms he was laying down when we jammed. (His lead work is great too!) It would be good for you to get his input on this post.

Billy,
Thanks for the comments.
Yeah, I'll be eventually posting some complete songs, I think. Don't have the capability, yet. Soon . . .
.
JohnnyRocker was one of the handles I couldn't think of, when I wrote the post.
Maybe he'll give a listen & respond, if he forgives me for not remembering him. (Sorry 'bout that, Johnny R.)
.
Anybody else with comments, good or bad? Just click 'post reply.'
Thanks.

Hi Alan:>)

I just checked out Molases blues. I like the progression, out of the box, yet familiar.....I especially liked certain mid parts that almost shuffled.
you should rename it Molases "shuffle" Blues...NICE! I have always said, if you always do what you always did, you will always get what you always got.

Bill: enjoyed our Jam..loved your leads.....hope we can do it again...you have a great big set of ears!!! I could just hear you playing lead to Molases blues. :D :D

Hey,
Billy, Johnny, and Belle.
Why don't you guys all stop over my place, maybe sometime after supper, tomorrow night? :) Say, 6:30, give or take? :)
:) Just a short drive.
I heard you guys play. We'd make some good music, together, eh? :)
Kinda makes my eyes water, just thinking of how smooth we'd probably sound together. :)
Our different experiences would probably make for a teriffic band.
What a symbiosis we'd have, huh?
.
Belle - I agree with you about the blues harp, completely. Ok, so you play harmonica, and sing your lyrics.
What type of percussion do we need for the song?
Drums? Tambourine? Washboard? :)

Ok, Jon. I'll check it later . . .
But -
First,
- What did you think of Molasses Blues, and "Frolicking Fingers?"
.
I'll listen to your stuff, if you listen to mine. :)
.
Maybe not your style, if you're doing classic rock, but I think you'll like hearing these songs, regardless.
Each is only a 60 second cut.
.
The Traveling Wilburys, huh? :)
My, my, you just made my day. :) But I need a whole lot more experience . . .
In the mean time - I'll just keep writing & playing music.
