Step one ... demos ... post some examples of your talent.

One must display one's wares in more than the typed word.

I could boast my singing skill in type but all whom know me know I cant sing for crap and everyone else would just be suspicious.

So ... post your demos ... then we can talk about the how and where to search.

K ?

And WELCOME

I am new to this site, and am new to searching for a band... I wondered if you could give me some handy tips on the best way to present myself/ approaches/ places to look, etc. General advice really..

I am looking to join or form an urban music band, reggae, hip-hop, rnb, drum n bass, etc.. anything with an influence of blues/jazz/funk/soul, etc, would be cool too. I am getting together a demo disc, so have got that far. Just to mention I am a singer.. :-)

Thanx fellow music lovers,

PEACE. :-)

When you're looking for something on the internet, what's the first thing you look for? Pictures? Video? Something showing you what it's all about so you can form an opinion right? Well, put yourself in the shoes of everyone looking - they want to know who you are and what you can do. So what's the best thing you can do to show them what you got?

Videos - music - bio - ...

Also, and especially true of this site, people tend to go overboard on what they're looking for and what they can do. I've seen profiles where every instrument is checked and every genre is preferred - cmon... really?

Pick one genre and and stick with it because people searching are searching for something specific. If you have a love for 2 genres, then make a separate profile for that genre and gear that profile specifically for that genre, with only music/video showcasing that genre. Limit your instrument selections to the one you really want to play - 2 max.

Best of luck to ya
