When we do post our music, few bother to comment anyway. So just how do you suppose we force THEM to do that? I participate, as a handful of others also participate.
Look at the reads and posts on a musical thread. Look at the reads and posts on a political thread. Count them, and average them, and see what you get. A lot of traffic and participation that would not otherwise keep Bandmix as lively as it is. And traffic is what keeps sites alive, as well as participation, and that is what keeps people coming here to see what is going on every day. There is more than enough room for music only posts. Start your own, ignore others you do not approve, just like the rest of the participants on the internet. Some come here just to flame, and some to read those flames. It's fun, we all do it.

I would suggest that those bitching about non musical posts spend more of their own time filling their Bandmix page to overflowing with their music first, before dictating to others what they should or should not be doing with their time. Now that's a novel thought, isn't it? Then they can fill this forum with their very own musical posts, and those interested in responding will do so. :)

Spoken like the little girl you are.

I just played LAST NIGHT and YOU?

I figured as much. Some talk and some play, but rarely do you get both.

i.e. Old mouthpiece..nothing more.

PS: Going to UK in about 4 hours. You don't even want to know why because it will be like grinding salt in your otherwise open wound.

Try to keep hope for your own project and never give up. I know it seems daunting but if you can't believe in you, no one can.

Actually Capt what Slacker wrote was pretty much within perfect of being right on the mark. Since you been gone Slacker has actually posted and shared some really cool stuff. Seems something has changed with you, got a gig? why don't you share it with us, be appreciated. Or are you just going to the UK for a free sex change operation. Please let us know

I will not fly in the current environment. I certainly wuold NOT allow my son or daughter or grandson to go through that sh*t without getting arrested for attempted murder.

Sick.

Capt seems to be short sighted a wee bit. A lot of the musicians on here are friends. Friends who are musicians talk about other things other than music. And a lot of the people on line are a wee bit antisocial. So we hang with musicians wherever we find them. But I'm sure there is nobody here like that. :)

Sometimes musicians, who are also people first, discuss the other things that concern them and affect their lives. When the world is going to hell in a hand basket musicians are likely to be as concerned about that as people who are not musicians.

Politics effect the economy, our lives, our jobs, our gigs and the amount of them. If you do not see that then you are truly narrow minded. Sometimes musicians need to rant just to get it out and get back to their music.

Whenever I went on the road the bands did not spend all the time talking music. In fact we spent little time talking about music because we had other things in common, even though we practiced every day and played every night. And that is when music dominated our time.

So consider some of these guys your friends, and and let your friends talk about whatever they wish to talk about. Friends sometimes argue, and fight, but they still treat each other with respect most of the time.
