we got invited to play the viper room recently at 100 % at the door and no presale but our bass player got very sick so we had to pass.

Well John, you obviously are playing in an established band with a big draw, that's the only way they'd offer that to you. There's no way you'd get that being a brand new band, without any known players, such as mine, without a proven draw. If I can guarantee at least 75 people there, then the next time, I can get 100% of the door. I've already researched this.
