I've had a couple auditions / jams since I joined. One band was actually looking for a guy to sort of front them with cover material and were southern rock / blues. the jam was great (drummer was mister solid) - those boys could do blues and a harp player happened to walk in who could wail.
But I want to do original.
Another was some guys who do covers in clubs. Since I'd been out of the scene for a while I didn't realize how good cover bands have become - they had that down.
But I want to do original.
Am I complaining? Heck no. Those were fun and I've talked to other guys and I've learned about the current music scene a bit and met people I liked.
But I'm still lookin' for a partner who can play bass and guitar (sharing those jobs with me) - maybe share the writing job (not necessary but nice). And I swear - it wouldn't take much to sing better than me!
