Very significant weather warnning for KC. Freezing rain and drizzle starting tonight. High impact on Monday evening commute. Changing to snow Monday night. Heavy snow nearly all day Tuesday into Wednesday morning. 8 to 12 inches of snow, blizzard conditions, travel next to impossible Tuesday and Wednesday. Bitter cold (below zero temps) Thursday morning. Possible much higher snow totals possible throughout the region...I don't recall EVER hearing such a forecast for KC...we're screwed...

I'll be shoveling out my parking lot again (about ten car spaces) as the plow doesn't do it. This time I'll be banging on everybody's door and if they have a shovel their asses will be outside helping me...

Not funny here, low pitch roofs are starting to collapse. The weight of the snow is being underestimated. 4 to 5 more inches tomorrow starting at 3 am, followed by continued sleet and freezing rain. More snow Saturday into Sunday, with the chance of a major storm developing next week.

It should be a federal law (& I REALLY hate the idea of having more laws, but this one makes good sense) that you cannot build a home with less than a 6/12 roof pitch (that's 45 degrees, for you non-construction types), cuz the trusses they're building, & the rafters they're using, are pure crap, these days!

I've noticed that older houses still stand up today, while newer buildings just seem to fall apart. It's kind of like slap, bang, clean up...next project.

Yep. It's easier to break into the average modern house than it is to open that child's toy you bought at Dollar General. We'd be better off if we let the packaging industry build our homes than to try to live in the sh*t that the jerkwad modern architect & contractor sell to today's home buyer.

I have worked on a house that was less than two years old, that had the siding popping off, shingles popping off the roof, lights wired improperly, hell, they even left the J-CHANNEL off around the windows & doors, so the OSB crap they sheathed it with got wet, popped off the studs, & was full of ants. All this in a house that was less than 2 years old! They didn't crown the floor joists, so the entire floor bounces when you walk on it. That's what you get with the illegal alien work force. Yeah, they're fast as sh*t, & their work falls apart like it, too!

When you add the poor workmanship to the substandard building materials we're using these days, & you get a fully disposable house, cuz it sure ain't gonna last for your kids to raise THEIR family in.

Philby - I've seen a lot of that too, I've been doing remodeling and finish carpenter work on new houses for around 5 years, I'm appalled at the crud I see. house that sells for over $300,000 and not one room less than an inch out of square, windows not even close to level or plumb, walls crooked, a door that leaned out on one side and in on the other...and that's just one house. Set a golf ball on the living room floor and it would roll 10 feet...and you guessed it, illegal aliens did all the concrete and framing work...after they stole everything that wasn't nailed down...we caught them trying to get into our tool trailer, when we hopped out of the truck mad as hell they RAN...and never came back...I wonder if it had anything to do with the hammers we were throwing...

Oh yeah Bob - we're having that same weather, a day or so after you. Looking at low 20's tonight, snow tomorrow, and it never snows twice in one year here. If it freezes tonight it will be ugly tomorrow, it's been raining since dark last night, these people have no idea how to drive on frozen roads...
