This is a set of live recordings from 1981 with the Citizens. A combination of originals and cover tunes. We played this rowdy college watering hole several times. The recordings are pretty rough, some of the performances are really rough... it is what it is. The pics are from a battle of the bands the same year. Check the outfits... cough!

Enjoy if you dare!

The 70's didn't really seem to end until Cyndi Lauper came along.

The 70's sucked the first time around. It was better when it came back in the 90's, which was the 80's trying to be the 70's...sort of.

1981 was a fairly fragmented time for music as I recall. Disco clubs were still raging everywhere, the punk scene was strong with Black Flag, 999, and The Clash. Metal was just getting an identity with Motley Crue and Metallica playing local clubs, and stadium rock acts like AC-DC, U2, Black Sabbath, and Van Halen were headlining.

We were trying to find our sound in there somewhere playing a little bit of everything. After two years we self destructed over personality differences. We did make some pretty good studio demos during that time. I will have to dig out those reels and transfer to digital if they are still useable.

A little perspective:
