I made a simple and direct comparison.
This is the only form of abortion available to the poor and in much of the world.
It was practiced by the Spartans as a part of their "religion".

"Well Im a honky tonk man,
And I cant seem to stop."

"Night wolfs moan, the winter hills are black, Im all alone.
Sittin in the back, of a long white, Cadillac."

" but I need honky tonk angels to hold me tight,
To keep me from slippin away."

and finally, one I wrote;

"Any time, any place, any bar.
You will find, that I wonder where you are.
At any time, any place, any Bar"

My daughter fell down the stairs the other day and for a sec I was really worried until she looked up at me and smiled. So after I watched the vid, somehow I knew this baby had it in the bag, no pun intended

Just take another drink
Wash away that stink
Then take her by the hand
Bring her up with the band

Sing an old Love song
All about right and wrong
Then she can swing her hips
Maybe pull a few tips

All night long we'll be playin flats and sharps
Keeping that parking lot full of trucks and cars
It's a hell of a way to make an honest dollar
Well don't tell anyone but I just Love to holler

Some people here have taken great offence that I have , in their minds, Imposed my will and my sense of right and wrong upon them. I have not! I've pretty much posed questions, extolled a certain moral philosophy, and expressed my beliefs based in that philosophy. I think perhaps some people here are not sure about their moral compass and rationalization appears to be their easy out. If it gets them through the day.......

We do NOT possess absolute rights.....you do not have an absolute right to kill me simply because you want to. We exercise our rights within the constraint of laws, and laws (most of them anyway) are based upon SOME moral principle that has been accepted as conducive to a civilized society. A person who worships satan may think it is perfectly within their rights to sacrifice a baby to their deity.....however, that violates our law against MURDER. WHO SAYS it is murder? What makes it murder under the law, but the exercise of free religious expression to the devil worshipper? In the civilized American society, behaviour is constrained by the LAW, and the LAW is our collective moral sense codified in order to form and perpetuate a civil, safe, and ordered society. Otherwise, anarchy and mob rule would prevail, and this would be quite a different place.

As I stated in my very first post here, abortion is truly a matter of the heart. I posed a reasoned and compelling argument against it in a legal sense, but it clearly goes beyond that. The argument is the very essence of the battle for the soul of this Republic. YOU say choice.....I say murder.

I have seen men die in violent ways, have seen the spark of life leave a person's eyes.....folks, life is vastly, VASTLY under rated! It is GOOD to be alive!! I just think we take a way too cavilier view of life and death, and abortion seems to be ground zero in the philosophical debate. DEAD is FOREVER!! I'm not afraid of it......I am a Christain, and My eternal destiny is assured, but this life thing here is pretty darn skippy good!! Just wish more people thought that way. death pretty much sucks!

And Philbymon.......THANK YOU for you reasonable tone. However, I must adamantly and vehemently disagree with one thing you said; I AM NOT AN ANIMAL!!! I am a unique and special creature, created as intended in the image of GOD! I did not evolve from some slug thing that slithered out of the primordal ooze, nor did I evolve from a damn monkey! I AM A HUMAN BEING!! You may certainly consider yourself differently......it is your perfect perogitive.......but I AM NOT an animal.

And on that note, I will end my diatribe on the subject.....to the relief and glee of many. Lets talk about music and groovin' and drums that sound so good they make you want to cry!!
