There is a controversial art museum here in Roanoke. It's cool to me. I love the weirdo architecture. It's free on Thursdays. We took the girls tonight.

I don't see what the controversy is all about. Pretty typical new-agey kind of architecture you'd expect in a museum. Then again, people flipped out over the Guggenheim.

I think I recognize one of the pieces, the one that looks like an inverted house.

I've got a pretty controversial museum in Cleveland (complete with great architecture):

Not that it'd be hard to imitate pei... Just build a big glass pyramid. It's ALWAYS a good idea.

It's beautiful, Paul, & you got some really great shots! Thank you!

diz - yours is cool, too, but I prefer seeing some of the art!

is it controversial because we all paid for it?

I tend to be very ...traditionalist in terms of visual art.
I enjoy art that reflects the fine things in life(each to his own there I guess)
It's in keeping with my personality, for the most part.

It's controversial because of the design (Roanoke is a big Mayberry), because it went over budget, and because this is the nascar, budweiser south.

Well, what did they expect? An art museum in a barn? A giant outhouse?
