If you're going to watch a good amount of TV, then paying for the extra cable is well worth it. There's a lot of educational programs on. A lot of good bio's documentaries, and insider looks on various subjects. If you watch basic, then you're selling yourself short.

You can educate yourself through it, or be dumbed down by marathon's on MTV.

The only thing I hate are the commercials these days. Not only do they always talk about being sick with something, but the breaks last about 5 minutes. It used to be only 2 minutes in between shows, and the commercials were more creative and fun.

I've been pretty happy with a basic Netflix subscription - they have a lot of documentaries that are streaming - just fire em up and watch. Matter of fact, I watched Blood into Wine, about Tool's lead singer buying land in AZ to create a vinyard from the soil up! pretty interesting. But T.V...? Too much scat.

Who's morality? Yours? The bible? The bible and the koran have screwed people up for generations. Some good stories. Some messed up ones.

Television has ALWAYS been a lowbrow medium, appealing to the lowest common denominator. There ARE exceptions of really good TV shows. But, they are few and far in-between.

You need a definition for morality ??

I really, really, want to see that documentary. I don't have a Netfix subscription unfortunately. Yeah, you're right though, too much TV...too much scat. I have extended basic with Starz. Anything beyond that is a waste. I can't watch all of that. I would turn into a chair.
