A friend of mine owned a small video production company, making indie movies, commercials, music videos, etc. Some producers wanted him to make a low budget film about Kurt Cobain with them. I'd already done some videos and commercials with him that got aired on MTV. The owner of a record store wanted me to be in 'em cuz I always hung out there (think Jack Black in
High Fidelity).
Anyway, this movie thing was offered to me because I kept getting, "Oh, my God! You look just like Kurt Cobain!" on a near-daily basis. I don't think so. The original plot seemed interesting, his last days, before committing suicide, being reenacted. But, they kept doing re-writes after re-writes, changed directors a couple times, etc. It kept getting shittier and shittier. HBO had picked it up and promised a bigger budget with each change, it seemed. But, I finally got fed up with it and quit. The project fell apart and went into limbo. Next thing I know, it is in a video store, directed by GUS VAN ZANDT! I rented the thing and
it is a piece of sh*t. Almost no dialog. Kurt has zero lines at all, mute. It's just pathetic.

But, Kim Gordon has a cameo. So, I regret that I could've hung out with her.
