Do you prefer to play in big venues where everything is spread out, or at the small shows where things are more intimate?

P.S. The question is not sexual in nature.

I just like to play.

Both have their own rewards and challenges.

I like it where the acoustics are good and people actually show up.

I think most people would prefer to play in smaller venues if money is no object. The biggest place I've played was the Majestic Theater one Halloween, there were probably 1,500 people there. I like rooms that hold 300-400 or so.

I think I prefer to play outdoors Jimmy. Weather cooperating of course.
What's your view ??

Gaaah, no outdoors gigs for me! I hate the sound and it's usually during daylight hours. The coolest outdoor gig we did was at Theater Bizarre, a kind of year-round Halloween venue that was - bizarre.

Interesting.

I like being outdoors anyway.
I like to mill around and mingle or just people watch, when the other acts are on.

Then, definitively the biggest, and perhaps the most interactive crowd I have played was outdoors.
So perhaps I'm somewhat prejudiced to it.
After all, I've only been at it about 3-4 years.

I"ve done some good outdoor gigs, but they were few. I liked having a huge crowd, too.

For a band situation, the bigger the better, as far as I'm concerned.

For solo stuff, I like the smaller venues. I've done some huge stages & vebues both indoors & out for my solo stuff, & it's rather daunting, & makes me feel kinda tiny to be up there all by my lonesome. Don't get me wrong, I still liked it, but it was far scarier than doing it in a band.

What Jimmy said, 200--500 indoors is perfect.
