Umm, nowhere on the internet is safe without an AV... and Norton's hasn't been worth the time to install it since AOL was king of the interwebs.
Macs are for folks who don't know what to do with two buttons on a mouse.
Seriously, Macs are the bomb for audio and video editing, but that's about it. They have mac viri out, and there is always click hacking and brute forcing your internet based mail accounts as well, so don't be swayed into thinking Haczors can't peel your Apple.

and jokes like that are for people who don't know macs have 4 buttons on the stock mouse.
Since i got a mac, I've noticed a significant reduction in the amount of time i spend dealing with sh*t and much more efficient workflows.
plus, in general, if a program freezes, only that program freezes, not the entire f**k OS. It's really nice not losing everything you were doing to one screwup.

the free version has kept my computer clean for 5 years or so.
I fix anc clean computers and work on a domain with over 3000 computers for a living. Norton is bloated, and McAfee sucks. I use Avast to clean up after McAfee. Unfortuately our domain administrator loves McAfee. I think he must get a kick back or something.

Macs are awesome until you have to work on an enterprise level domain. There are no good terminal emulators that will work cross platform. There are no AS400 emulators period. I know. I have tried. One of my VW dealerships has tried over and over to integrate iPads and Macs into the network over and over. I keep having to spend hours trying the latest OS only to find it still does not work.
Other than that I love MACS
