Yep, Klugmo...it's all you.

Damn, I was even defending the guy-I said I knew how financially difficult it was to produce music-and he took a cheap shot at me and started calling me a sheep! What a little b!tch!

What is a REAL musician supposed to mean?

What is JUST a music fan?

Music fans pay the bills.

Being a musician isn't some magical power bestowed by aliens. They're not "special people." Humans are humans. Some excel at what they do. So what? This snobbery is one of the things rock n' roll and punk originally railed against. Anyone with an instrument can become a musician. How good they are depends on how much they put into it, with a little innate talent. If you get paid for it you become a professional. If you get paid to f@ck other people you become a professional. So what?

Unless someone wants to play music with us I don't care.

Defending? When you joined Paul's little lynch mob? I think not.

I'm not altogether convinced they're not the same person. In fact, that String Cheese character who used to torment this board, may in fact have net-split into two new evil characters - how's that a for a double negative plot of eeeevil conspiracy?

Oh for the love of all that's sane.

Please stop evoking the name of string cheese.
He may figure out how to get that computer back in the closet with him. :(

No, it's not a magical power...it's the result of years of work. I've been in music for twenty years (and there's a lot of folks on this site that have been in it WAY longer than I have). If I had gone to college to be a doctor, I'd have been one a few times over by now. The idea that someone can come in and put themselves on an even par is not only dismissive, but pretty insulting as well.
If you think this is snobbery, then go out and buy yourself a scalpel set, walk into a local ER, and tell them you're ready to start slicing and dicing. See how they treat ya. Anyone with an instrument CAN be a musician....anyone who has an instrument doesn't AUTOMATICALLY become one. It's not snobbery. IT's not too outrageous to ask for some credentials.

Yeah, that was as much my lynch mob as it was Paul's (I already clarified that once), and your behavior was unnacceptable...most of us have forgiven and forgotten...do we really have to get into it again?

Yes, it comes down to priorities. If I were still alone and 25 years younger I'd have no problem with being homeless as long as I could still play music. But, I'm not. I have someone I care about who cares about me, and we're both too old to do the starving artist thing indefinitely. Life moves on.

My sentiments EXACTLY! Also family, jobs, TIME, bills up the wazoo... The black dude with the dreds has all the fukiin' time in the world... no mortgage, no kids, no fukkin responsibilities! You can't seriously use that as a reasonable example? As this point in my life, there's no way in hell I could afford ANY studio time! I can still be a serious musician without sacrificing my hard earned money just to satisfy a few BM members....Fuk that! Any dope that chooses to use what little $$ he's got on studio time over shelter and food has definitely got some serious problems!

This post is just a variation on the "Why pay for Band Mix" crap, where whiners bitch about people who dont pay for Class-A membership, while others whine about how they dont want to.

I connected with people on this site who are from the area I live in, so, as a non-paying member, I think Im doing all right. As I said before, in other posts just like this one, I will not post "Dated" or "Rough" recordings or vids of the projects I've worked on. And if Im interested enough to follow someone's url to another site, I will. If not, then I wont. But I dont sit and whine about it, and I certainly dont fault anyone who wants to, or dose not want pay-to-play on this site.

There are a lot of OK people here, and geography makes its hard to get to know what they are capable of, or get to know them personally. I've seen plenty of vids where guys shred like "guitar heroes", but how do I know they wont fall apart in real life due to lack of creativity and knowledge of the fretboard. Still....I would rather know that they exist.

One thing you will learn about me is that I am very slow to anger…REAL anger. But, I’m even slower to forgive. Someone tried to talk me into giving folks the benefit of the doubt after Paul’s mock-election. “They’re really nice people.” Uh-huh, yeah. Right. In that situation people show their true colors. You’ve shown yours. Live with it.
Comparing a musician to a surgeon is laughable. I don’t care how good you think you are. You’re not that good.

I'm ignoring Mike - he has a bad habit of posting random porn. You don't appear to have that habit, thankfully.

You've obviously not met the surgeons I work with...

Ya don't have to like me, Mike-trust me, the feeling is mutual-but ya don't have to be an ass, either. Your comment to me was cheap, short sighted and vindictive. I would hope that we can be a little more mature than that. I'm cetainly trying (ignore the fact that I called you a little b!tch a few posts ago! ).
