Quo Vadis is pretty good, but I'm not sold on the vocals.

Machine Head is nowhere near new, but the product they've put out recently is polished and fantastic

and austrian death machine is a ton of fun

My man, Que Vadis started in the late 80's and released their first album in 1990. You're old school Metal and don't even know it.

ah, well, dammit.

thought i had their full discography, but it only goes back to 2000...

There is a Que Vadis that broke up, and one that's around.

The band I was referring to, did start in the late 80's and release their album in the 90's. Not that many people caught on to that one.

The band you're talking about released a demo in 1993 I believe. They released their debut around 95.

I got both of those bands confused, because one ends and one starts around the same time. I thought they just changed their style around and were still playing.

Well-met, James, & welcome to the forum.

A lot of the letters are worn-off my keyboard, so it makes for interesting posts, at times. I do try to police my typeration, but occasionally things slip by, so don't be surprised if I call ya "Janes" sometime.

Anyhow, as I was trying to say - I like the cut o' your jib, or something, perhaps. less questionable (wtf is a jib anyway? and why would you cut it? I'm no sailor, obviously), & it looks as though you'll fit in famously, once we solve a certain problem.

I like this guy already.

Like the song on your profile too James.
Wish I could make out the lyrics a little better, such as it is.

Funny thing about "metal". Seems everyone has a different interpretation.
I consider our heaver music "metal". Though most would not.
Then you have to consider that my exposure to the music and the term was well before the birth of many of today's "metal" fans and artist.

Oh no... I hate unspecified "certain" problem things.

My idea of metal is hopelessly warped. I was 14 when i discovered Slayer back in '88. Prior to that the heaviest thing i had listened to was Pink Floyd and Black Sabbath. After slayer came Metallica, Megadeth, Testament and Pantera. I grew up just a few miles from Vinnie and Darrel and knew them back in the power metal days... they were jamming with bands like Hammer Witch and Sal-icide in Texas. So while all my friends were listening to Poison I was blasting all that with old Punk and death metal. I was the only person I knew wh had Cannibal Corpse, GWAR, Metallica, Megadeth, Black Flag, Circle jerks and Alan Parson's Projeck on the same mix tape.

So yeah, totally "BREWTALLL"

Thanks!

That song is actually based on a bible verse. (Year of the Moth is quasi-spiritual... but not preachy) I will see if kevin has the Lyrics anywhere. he is currently up in California so that is why we are just writing and no longer a performing band.

I love the fact that it still stays underground. if it was loved by all, it would get way over played like the rest of the modern crap that they call rock these days.

I admit, alot of the modern metal bands sound watered down and boring, but nothing compared to the crap on the radio from the more popular genres.

radio rock, radio hip hop and radio pop has been absolutely awful in the last five years.

i love old school pop music though. they did it good in the 80's in my opinion. the music was very catchy back then. thats why it won't die.

trust me, you don't want the masses excepting metal. if you think its watered down? it could get a lot worse.
