Wot that guy said!

Ummmm.... I've done it before many years ago when my wife signed me up under "PanikAtack".... I'm pretty sure it's still up here... You can't ban anyone from this site unless the "mods" actually ban his IP addy and there are many ways to get around that... Like many are saying, either ignore people that aggravate you or respond with a clever and stinging reply back and forth and try to match wits till the other finally stops responding..... Some folks love a good cyber fight to start their day!

He has caused some of OUR FRIENDS to leave this friendly board. We are a community of friends and musicians. We benefit from critiques, tech advice, and day to day camaraderie. He has thrown a wrench in the works. I move to have him removed from this friendly forum. If enough people agree I will send a request to bandmix that his account be deleted. All in favor say aye.

I can barely hold my anger after reading this, I should have waited and calm down a bit before answering but to hell with it. I’m not writing this to defend Mike Nobody, and in fact it was I, who wrote to band mix about one of his indecent posts not to have him expelled but to have the post removed so no family members wouldn't accidentaly click on it.

My anger is toward you Paul dude, Ok let’s say you succeed in expelling Mike N. then who’s next how many need to be expelled before this forum conforms to your liking? You don’t like the guy? Tell him so, debate him confront him don’t take the cowardly way out by ganging up on him. I’ll have no part in this reenacted Ox Bow Incident.

This has to be the most cowardly post I’ve read on this forum akin to some of the deeds committed by the like of you during the inquisition, witch hunt or Jews round up in Nazi Germany, I know you don’t see yourself like that but in my eyes acts like yours turned average people into cruel mobs.

I don’t like what Mike writes but that’s my problem, I don’t like what you wrote still my problem which I deal with it by confronting you, I’d never try to recruit a mob to come after you, expel Mike N.? I’d say nay as I’d say if someone wanted to expel you.

You know if I leave this forum it would be for people like you rather than
people like Mike N. in spite of his shortcomings.

Paul dude I think I don’t like you but that’s my problem, if it gets to the point that I don’t want to hang out with people like you I’ll silently leave to seek better quality company rather than cowardly gang up on you.

Have a good weekend.

Sorry to disagree, Nav.

The language, the constant confrontations, the barrage of links, the posting of stolen music, the never-ending disruptions...& many of you are wrong about one thing in particular - one CANNOT simply "avoid the jerk." He posts on other ppl's posts. His pics are there, when I'm scrolling through to see what's being said. If there was a list of everyone who posted on a given thread, I could avoid him. If there was an "ignore" function, I could avoid him.

The way things stand, the only way to avoid him is to remove myself, because he posts even more than I do (which is saying something, even if many of his posts do NOT).

Paul, RGM, I & others have called him out for his uncontrolled behaviors, & he continually responds with rolling eyes, acid remarks, & the continuation of his unacceptable behavior in a forum designed for adult discourse. Look, I've had more than my share of hissy fits & arguments, here, but I NEVER posted the things this guy does, or cause this much commotion...& neither has anyone else in the 2 years I've been here.

It needs to stop or I'm gone, too, & THIS guy doesn't have the self control or the maturity to handle himself like a decent human being...not to me...not to you or anyone else. I don't have time or energy or desire to deal with any more of him.

If he's still here tomorrow, I won't be. I don't need my wife or son or grandson exposed to his antics, & I don't need to be exposed to his grossly socially unacceptable behaviors any longer. I doubt there is a person here who could call me a prude or a control freak, but I must draw the line somewhere, & he has crossed it far too many times to count.

BUT GUYS!!!! What's to stop him from signing up again under a different name over and over??? Why the fuk isn't anybody addressing this?? So, Ban Mike Nobody and he can come back as Mikey Nobody, Mick Nobody, Mike Somebody, etc... You guys are all overlooking the obvious... YOU CAN'T IN ANY WAY, SHAPE OR FORM KEEP HIM , ME OR ANYBODY FROM THIS SITE NO MATTER HOW FUKKIN' HARD YOU TRY! As far as members threatening to leave if he's not banned.... FOR REALZ??

It's not impossible to have his computer's registration code blocked from access. Other sites do it.

If he DID come back, he may have learned something from the experience (I wonder if he CAN), or he could be booted again.

The point is, his actions aren't acceptable, & some action needs to be taken. I'd settle for a simple "ignore" function, like I've seen in other sites.

Believe me, I've been banned from certain motorcycle sites because I wasn't afraid to confront some of these asswipes..... They blocked my IP address... I simply signed up on another of a quadrillion computers that I have access to under a different screen name... or sometimes they'll block your server.... I have a million accounts under: Yahoo, MSN, optonline, safari, explorer, etc.... point being..no matter what, if one wants to get onto a site, there are many various ways of doing that unless you are completely clueless... Also... I've never witnessed BM actually banning anyone from here... They would lose possible revenue as Guitar Center gets a lot of business from us!

You should have never had to do that in the first place. Even after you notified Bmix it still went on and on and on and on.

No one is next! unless they pull the same crap. Cowardly? :D you missed the boat on that one.

Huh? That analogy is way way off base and makes no sense in the dealings with Mike Nobody. Try again?

Crip is of course right.
We have all seen the examples.

Throw a lit match in pine straw on a windy day and you will have a forest fire in minutes.

Throw the same lit match in a snow bank, it may leave a temporary impression, but that is all.

He may be an irritating butt most times and I think b-mix ought to have a long discussion with him about his manners on the web, but trying to ban him from b-mix wont work and I think everyone here knows that. I agree more with sans and Bob and say nay . Lets ignore the mean ones and move on !!!

If you disagree...so be it. Some of us are trying to provide an answer...albeit it's an unpopular solution. To those of you that disagree, PLEASE suggest something better.

Ignore him? Doesn't work. He just keeps on and on. Doesn't matter what the post is about, he'll put his two cents in. That's not a solution.

Fight him? We are...and being called cowards for doing so.

Any other suggestions?

And for you, Mike: Remember my "playing possum" comment? This is where that starts. Show us your victim face now.

BTW, Nav, I'm as much to blame for this as Paul. It amazes me that some of us have INDIVIDUALLY tried to make the situation better to no avail-and the only thing it's done is fuel Mike's fire. Then, when we come together to stand up for what we believe in, we are cowards.

There is a line. There HAS to be a line. Chaos cannot be allowed to reign.

This post is, at best, an indication of the fascist views some, not all members, have. Getting rid of the ultra left, is not going to give the ultra right view any more credibility. And you're all just going to end up chatting about how much you have in common. And this site will eventuallty end up just another "Common" site, of which there are thousands of already. How boring. Take it as well as you give it, or just dont respond to a post.
I will not vote to ban anyone from any site, anywhere. To do so would be admitting that Im on a "high horse", like the handful of yall that seem to think only your view/opinions/likes & dislikes are what will set the world right. Like I said before, Get Over Yourselves.

This was my "better" idea.

It has worked pretty well in the past for me when I had the self control to not fire back at those whom would "flame" me at every turn.

I am still here.
For the most part they are ... gone.
