Go to this page (I did NOT go to their bandvista site, cuz those outside sites rare;y work for me), check out their profile tune, & tell me what you think. What I think is already there, for all to see.

I had actually looked at this earlier...pretty good stuff. Songwriting is credible, overall decent sound. Not groundbreaking, but good.
I didn't respond to the actual thread, because I don't know how to answer the question. If I knew what it took to make it in the biz, I'd do it for myself.

Hey that’s a good song I liked it for what it is, I played it once and that’s enough for me, if I keep listening to it I might end up doing what you do Phil… analyze it with the ear of the musician, we tend to forget that bands song writers who perform their own material have to cater mostly to average people and most of them are not musicians which is a good thing, musicians tend to be more critical by injecting unknowingly or maybe not their own concept and preferences into someone else’s music.

I’d listen to a musician if he or she can teach me some new techniques, recording tips and other tricks of the trade but when it comes to inspiration, creativity it can only come from within, cannot be taught or coached I think.

I’ve read your comments Phil they are not wrong if they wanted the song to sound different or assume a different identity, but then the song would reflect your vision more than theirs.

It’s obvious that these guys have spent a lot of time to complete this project and the fact that they presented it on the net tells me they wanted the song to sound just as it does.

Not contemporary enough? For those who like it doesn’t matter IMO.

I agree, Nav. I liked it a bunch, & I'm a critical bastid, as you all know...but their question remains - will it help them to "make it." The only real answer I can give them is the one I did.
