I nominate RG to take inventory of all the underage kids on BM and notify their parents so they make take proper parental control of their kid's internet site access. RockNRoll is the music of the devil!

I think RG works for BM.

I heard a story once about a kid who sucked on his mother's Teet. Then grew up, got married and liked sucking on his wife's Teet. They soon had kids, and both kids, male and female sucked on the Teets. Those two kids grew up and the cycle began again. This teet sucking has got to stop at some point dosnt it RG?

Funk was, without a doubt, a strong influence in the 70's. There were down and out funk bands like James Brown and Isley Brothers (little known fact that Jimi Hendrix played with them in '64) , there were psychedelic bands like Parliament-Funkadelic and Kool and the Gang, there was blues funk like Albert Collins and later The Kinsey Report, and there was rock funk like Sly and the Family Stone, War, and of course Grand Funk Railroad. I always thought it might have been tough to write funk/rock without sounding cliche or cheap (and I have heard a lot of bad rock/funk), but the guys that pulled it off made some great music. The myth back then was that you had to be black to feel 'funk'. I'd like to hear a combination of 'funk meets Rolling Stones'.

I didn't know Hendrix had played with those guys. I know he played with Little Richard, who isn't Funk. That's interesting though. I'm going to have to up my Hendrix history by looking into that.

I haven't heard The Kinsey Report. I'll have to check them out. Thanks for that. Looks like I still got a lot to learn.

I listen to a lot of stuff like Brothers Johnson, Brick, Curtis Mayfield, ...etc. The only non-black Funk I know of that I like is Average White Band. But yeah, I'm looking for stuff that sounds really grimy. Of course, anything along the lines of Sly and Earth Wind and Fire would be cool too.

I haven't heard any recent Funk that I've liked, but maybe I just haven't found any yet. Heh, a funky Stones would be a great mixture. A lot of attitude.

Miss You was their attempt at disco. A slight alteration and Voilà!' Instant funk cover.

I've been weeding through a lot of supposed Funk, and all I'm getting is Fresh Jams. Garbage like that.

I think James Brown would have done a good cover of 'Start me up' if he were so inclined. I have jammed up a lot of Stones songs to a funky beat, but nothing earth shattering.
