Thanks Paul good to hear from you!

Klugmo, yea we are very comfortable with each other.

Our drummer and I go back to our first band in junior high together. Our singer was a yr younger and we wouldnt let him in the band way back then. We didnt think he looked cool enough. I recruited Andy our bassist 18 yrs ago. Our band doesnt play as much as we once did. Weve done 6 gigs this year and wont do any others unless of course someone wants to pay well for our services. As far as that goes we are all on the same page.

NO PAY NO PLAY!

Its interesting to me when I sit in with other guys, all the inside band drama that goes on. One guy doesnt want to play this song, one doesnt want to play that song. If you dont want to play a song why is it on your songlist? DUH! This is really funny when you have a band that only has 40-50 songs on thier list, guys you cnat drop one the night of a gig, work this all out in advance. As far as my band goes at one time we had around 700 songs we could choose from. And yea sometimes we have trainwrecks, but when we do we dont get mad we just crack up and move on to the next thing. With these four guys weve never really had song issues. It was always simple if someone didnt want to do a particular song then we just didnt worry about it.

Lets see the other night, we did have some PA issues for a bit. Our singer knocked over one of the drummers cymbal stands with unpluggged the overhead mic. One of the gals that has followed our band for years got my GF a little upset when she came over and said I see you wore your leather for me and rubbed my leg right in front of my GF. The people that ran the place came up and said cut the smoke machine off, another time we were too loud then we were too quiet. and on and on and on

But in the end we had a really fun night. We love playing together and put most bands to shame that Ive seen in my area. Maybe thats cocky but its the truth. A few weeks ago a friend of the band had a birthday party. At the party was a guy who took my place on guitar for a couple of years. He said man I used to watch you guys and then got asked to play in the band. He said do you remember coming to my house and helping me thru learning songs. He said the rest of the guys didnt give a sh*t, just said weve got a gig in a couple of weeks. I had forgotten all that, but he said I came over 4 or 5 times and showed him the ropes. I never knew how he felt about me til then. He also commented that no matter how much fun we made it look that in the end we always approached it as a business, because if you are in a band and expect to be paid for your services, then you are indeed a business. Of course we are just a hard rock cover band and we play all the crap that at some point everyone says Im not playing, but in the end if a guy or gal gives 5 dollars at the door and spends money at the bar all night then its our job as entertainers to give them what they want. We were paid $1000 sat night to play for 4 hours and got our bar tabs paid for, what did you do sat night?

Anyway I get a kick out of our pictures and love to show my guys off.

Thanks K and Sans.

George I always enjoy anyones pictures from gigs. In fact I would encourage any young or old bands to take as many pictures of your bands working as possible. In my case I dont know how much longer we will do this. One of our old time fans always tells me I guess you guys will keep rockin as long as your all alive, and he said me and my wife will be there to see you play. That makes you feel good when someone truely wants to see your band over and over again.

Like I said guys take pictures of your band so at least if it ends you have some sort of document of your group to show your grandkids!

Have a Great Day and Smile!

We are on the same page with the photos John.
Besides it adds some realism to the dryness of the online experience.

I agree JW. Everything should be documented...vids, pics, audio...etc. All those things are priceless and are there for good memories later on. You can't go back in time and capture those moments again, plus, they tell a better story for those who weren't there.

Seeing pictures like that really confirmes want I want to be doing. Hopefully, things fall through soon.

Kru you might want to document what you do between bands, on your own so to speak. I have some pictures of me doing solo work.

I wnet thru a fire years ago and lost all my metal spandex glory days stuff, whenever crip puts up old pictures from that era I feel bad cause I dont have any of that. But then again I didnt look so good in spandex LOL!

We are notoriously bad about getting pix of the band gigging. Occasionally we'll get someone to do it, but most of those experiences are gone without a thing to remember them by. I really kick myself for not taking pictures when I was in the studio with Scott Asheton. I'm probably not going to get many more opportunities to jam with a rock star.

Yea Jimmy I met a lot fo people thru the years and have nothing to show for it. Billy Gibbons recording Eliminator in Memphis at Ardent Studios, Stevie Ray recording In Step at Kiva in Memphis. Duck Dunn, Steve Cropper, Joe Walsh, Al Green, Willie Mitchell, Rufus Thomas just to name a few.

I would suggest in the Farleys case to try and make an effort to get some good pictures. With digital photography you can get a boatload of shots. Just get a friend or even pay someone to do it at your gigs, so you have that pictorial history at least. Thats what Ive tryed to do at Aint Yo Mama gigs is get a good history to show later. Weve even got 20 hours of video footage all the way back to the late 80s. This New Years Ive been thinking about haveing a party and inviting the band and close friends and pull all this stuff out and ask any of them that have footage to bring it to the party!

Keep On Rocking Dude, in the end that is all we can do is keep the flame alive!
