What Mary said. It's impossible to find members who are only in one band nowadays. We just find a way of working around everyone and so far it's been okay.

I thought it was just you and your husband. :?

I'm now in two bands and contemplating a third.

Helpful hint for anyone seeking musicians:
Join someone else's band and steal their drummer, bassist, singer, whoever you need.

I think being in more than one band has a lot to do with what you play. I mean, if I was to take up bass guitar there wouldn't be a problem at all. In fact, I could actually be pretty selective about who I played with.

Mike, you have a point. As much as I hate to admit it, stealing another band's musician is part of the deal. As well as getting your guys taken from you.

I'm looking for that one band that fits, that I can dedicate myself to. But, I wouldn't mind having something to experiment with and play a different instrument for the heck of it. The side project is just something I could knock around with, and at the same time not take too seriously. With that said, I would hope that the members wouldn't take it seriously either.

Eh, wouldn't you rather have ONE band that you are dedicated to AND be able to have fun with it? I'm not sure why there has to be a separation between the two...

I should clarify. I guess I meant something to kill time with less commitment. Something on the side I could leave if I needed to without any hard feelings.

I prefer more than one band because I play more than one style of music. i enjoy knowing that I can play Bach one day and Stevie Wonder the next. I get the same rush from playing various genres and I can't do one style and forsake all others.

Ugh, time...to go...to bed!
