J, I understand your frustration. But, you're looking at this argument from just your own view...of a small business owner. I completely agree with your post.

I am trying to look at this from EVERY possible angle, from the macro to the micro. I'm trying to see how situations like yours fit in the bigger picture and how they could be improved upon. "What are the flaws in the SYSTEM supporting this?"

A lot of it has NOTHING to do with how you run your business. It has a LOT to do with vested powerful interests, and the spoiled rich kids of spoiled rich kids. Small businesses have, I think, a 90% failure rate. Why is that? Is it just accidental or done by intent? Do you really think some asshole who's uncle is on the board of directors COINCIDENTALLY goes from the mailroom to the boardroom within his first month on the job? He's just REALLY REALLY good at his job? Do clowns like that CARE about ANYTHING? Do you trust THEM to make big decisions that effect you? I sure as Hell don't. Society has to protect itself from sociopaths with power, always has and always will. But, the game is rigged and individuals can only do so much. If you want justice don't expect the perps to volunteer to make things right. It ain't gonna happen.

J...I too understand your frustration. But of all the time in the history of the US to not pull back government spending...this was the time. All the economists I've heard say that if you cut off the flow of money right now you could be looking at a recession that lasts 10 years or more.

We need to keep propping up small business, people not normally unemployed, force the banks to lend the money we bailed them out with...and once the economy gets back on it's feet, start balancing the budget.
I'm also for a 15% surcharge on the uber wealthy who haven't payed their fair share for decades....

But none of this will happen because every body just voted with their fear and anger.....we're screwed......

I am going to try to be nice about this. A little history lesson to begin with. Europe pulled out of the great depression at least 5 years before the US. The reason was the government spending on infrastructure in T.R's new deal. All he did was tax the existing tax base to death. 5 YEARS.

"We need to keep propping up small business". How I ask you ? By regulating them to death, by allowing the continued abuses the title of this thread, UNEMPLOYMENT INSURANCE. I just found out it goes both ways. If some one quits your employment and then gets fired from a job,, two employers down the line ,You as a previous employer are still responsible.
Two days and you can be on the hook for thousands. NO wonder no one is going to risk giving some one a job. Especially a small business.

" I am also for a 15% surcharge on the uber wealthy who haven't payed their fair share for decades..."

First of all who died and left you in charge? I guess you are just so smart that that you can tell God how much is ok to steal from your fellow man because YOU think it is righteous.
You are going to say it is not stealing, it is necessary taxation. Yeah , to fill the pockets of people just like you.

By the way that comment about we're screwed, I hope you are getting some because thats the only real screwing you are getting,,, contrary to the hype and BS you keep working yourself up too.

Go back and read JH's post, and welcome to AMERICA.

Now Glen, let me give YOU a little history lesson. The Great Depression lasted from 1929-1939. We were getting out of it just prior to entering the war in 1941. The same war that eventually gave us the prosperous 1950's.

Now five years before it ended, what were the Europeans doing? Oh, yes, THEY WERE FIGHTING NAZIS. At that time, governments RAISED TAXES to pay for war. The money spent on the war stimulated the economies and helped pull them out. Just as THE NEW DEAL did. Government spends $$$. Business picks up. See? Now leave the grown ups alone and go deal with REAL problems like airport security.

Many economist now believe "THE NEW DEAL" extended the depression by three years.

You simply cannot borrow or spend yourself out of debt.

Many economists are also full of sh*t.

It wasn't debt that created the depression. It WAS debt that ended it. Do some research on the Federal Reserve sometime, where money comes from. Banking, from it's most ancient infancy, created bogus money out of thin air. It is, frankly, a license to counterfeit. Even when we were on the gold standard, we didn't really stick to gold as a standard. Banks were only required to hold a given percentage of the money's actual value. America doesn't make it's own money, private banks do. Both Lincoln and Kennedy tried to change this. But, well, you know how they turned out.

No they were NOT and everything you wrote here is not only a distortion of the truth but an absolute lie. Now you go get yourself felt up by the TSA. At least I tell the truth , I want a female officer to feel me up and down.

I am so sorry you are a part of the generation that is not being taught the truth. Did you know that, J.C. was turned down as a backup singer in OZZIES band?

I've done a lot of research on the federal reserve. I think they should all be hanged.

If we're not at %100 inflation from where we are today in six months.

Then I'll consider looking into it again.

Ya learn something new every day! I always thought it was FDR what started the New Deal.

My bad!

Thanks, Glen!

First off....Glen...go f*uck yourself......again. You're an idiot. And I'm sure your dick is as small as your intellect.....

I just heard someone on the radio say a great line....

They said" The thing about the new conservatives & teabaggers is... when presented with solid evidence they say " Well that's your opinion".

This is a waste of time......
